Its website says it has 20 years in business and describes growing from 4 carpenters and a shared box of tools. A vermontbiz.com piece has described the company building homes, renovations and commercial work, and a flyingmag.com article quotes Sean Flynn, company president, on its roots in residential and subcommercial projects. Old houses and outbuildings are a real part of its work. A 2017 customer said Silver Maple did a complete rehabilitation of their 1810 village farmhouse, including knocking down and rebuilding a 19th-century addition and gutting the original structure down to its sheathing. That 2017 customer wrote that the job included all new electric, plumbing, HVAC and floor systems. A 2016 customer said the company turned a deteriorating 1840 carriage barn into an energy efficient guest house while keeping its hand-hewn timbers, and that its craftsmen recreated wooden hardware found in the barn. A 2015 reviewer said Sean and Mike built a remote cabin in the mountains of Vermont that is not accessed by roads. A 2019 customer said Sean worked for many hours to get the sauna and the elevator working in the house the company built for them. Its Better Business Bureau grade is A+, and Procore Construction Network shows 37 of its projects. vtmag.com has written about a sustainable-housing property of the company's in Weybridge. Commenters in Vermont Reddit threads from 2024 to 2026 have recommended Silver Maple Construction, one of them in May 2024 "if you want high end." Vermont lists its home improvement contractor registration, 174.0000174, as active, held by Silver Maple Construction LLC.

I cannot believe I am writing a review for SM, I viewed their website so MANY times wishing they accept our project. Not only does our basement look amazing, but it brings many memories of an incredible experience working with Mike, Silas, Evan, SM team and all of Dennis’s Team. It was a seamless collaborative project where there was nothing we asked for, that was not consented with a smile. It was truly remarkable to work with you guys from the day Sean and Drey visited the house and said yes to the project. As an Interior Designer I have done many constructions, remodeling and interior decorating but never have a worked with a company that not only kept all their schedules but was an absolute joy thought out the entire process. SM is resourceful, committed to quality, meticulous to details and have ingenuity in what they propose. We now joke that going to Vermont without having the SM team at the house will make it feel empty.
After a very positive construction process, from the first conversation to the last punch list inspection, my husband and I have nothing but positive and glowing things to say about everyone at Silver Maple. Each of the people we have interacted with, from the top to the bottom of the ladder, addressed our issues, questions and concerns professionally, intelligently, and they made sure we were thoroughly satisfied. The quality of construction of our house is simply a wonder. The installations of every window, every floor, every wall, and especially every cabinet, are gorgeous and are certainly aging well after 9 months of occupancy. From the first bulldozer shovelful of Addison County clay 2 years ago to the inspection just yesterday of the finish of some of our cabinets to insure it was perfect, nothing has been left to chance. For example, Sean worked for many hours to get our sauna working, as well as the elevator, both of which were tedious and complex jobs, but he did not quit until everything was perfect. In the process of winter coming on, as the house settled, things were adjusted to accommodate these changes by SMC. We have the closest thing we can imagine to a perfect house that we will live in for the rest of our lives! Our heartfelt thanks to everyone at SMC, including the people in the office who were super helpful and went the extra mile for us!
My Wife and I purchased a 2012 Cedar Creek 5th Wheel RV. Sue, an Interior Designer, planned anew interior for our RV. This included new contemporary cabinets. We contacted several local companies but they weren’t really interested. Sean from Silver Maple Construction came and looked at the project. He immediately understood and was enthusiastic. We hired SMC and the outcome was exactly what we had hoped for. The level of craftsmanship, attention to detail and installation was awesome. We have traveled across the USA and back and continue to enjoy our home away from home. We also get so many compliments on the interior. Thanks Silver Maple Construction for your great work. I highly recommend them.
Drey is the absolute best project manager and facilitator. She answers every call and every email within minutes and has a level of professionalism for design and architecture that I found very inspiring. She was a key part of our dream house project.
I hired Silver Maple to build my house and studio in Vermont and I could not be happier. The quality of work is excellent. They are finishing the project on time and under budget. They are also the highest quality of human beings and delightful to work with. Communication has been excellent. I have no complaints & would highly recommend Silver Maple Construction.
