Simple Energy describes itself on its website as a local home heating oil and propane company since 2006 that also offers plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling services. The website lists a service area that includes Lebanon, Hanover, Enfield, Canaan and New London, along with 24/7 emergency service. A recent customer with a heating unit emergency, water flooding the basement, says a technician arrived in less than an hour; the tech, Lucas V., diagnosed and fixed the issue and mopped up the water. A 2025 customer of more than 15 years wrote that they had used the company for heating oil, heating repairs, a heating installation, mini split installation and electrical work, and that one of the owners delivered a couple of times himself. A 2024 customer said the company diagnosed and fixed a mini-split that another local company could not figure out, and called the work a little pricy. A 2024 customer described a propane boiler replacement done while they were out of town, with an updated venting setup to bring it into code. A 2022 customer said their furnace stopped working at 2:30am and the heat was back on by 4:30am. A 2026 customer who rented said they were overcharged over five years, that deliveries the company said were made were not, and that after the switch to another dealer the company filled another company's tank by mistake. A 2025 customer wrote that a technician doing a propane safety check found the stove and dryer had never been converted for propane, though technicians had passed them as safe for more than three years; that customer later wrote that the owner, Rob S., called and their balance was forgiven. A 2022 customer said they had been without heat for over 6 weeks that year while waiting on parts for a leaking heater. A 2022 customer said the price on their last heating fuel delivery was higher than local competitors charged. A 2025 customer said a phone representative was confrontational when they called about water spraying from the boiler, then wrote that management acted and a pipe was fixed within an hour.
