Skinner Overlook Landscape and Design is really two companies merged into one: in 1979 Frank Sullivan bought Skinner Lawn Service and picked up Overlook Landscaping the same year, then folded them together under one name. The company, based in Weymouth, describes itself as family-owned and family-run today, with 47 years behind it, serving Weymouth, Boston, and the South Shore. On Google it holds 4.5 stars across 25 ratings. The two most recent reviews, both from late June 2026, back that up — one customer describes a full seasonal yard refresh, reseeding bare patches, general upkeep, and tree work, and says they'd trust the crew with the property again. It's a short window, but everything in it is positive. The company's own site lists a wide range of work — maintenance, construction, irrigation, fertilization, seasonal cleanup, and commercial snow removal — though what customers actually describe leans toward maintenance-type work like cleanup, reseeding, and tree care. Two things are worth raising before booking. A review tied to a commercial job near Braintree describes crews starting as early as 7am with a loud mulch-pumping machine that disturbed neighbors — worth asking about start times if you're in a tight residential setting. Separately, an older employee review described the owner as overpromising to customers; it's a single, dated account that sits oddly next to the otherwise positive recent reviews, but worth getting scope and timeline commitments in writing. For a seasonal maintenance job — cleanup, reseeding, general yard care — the recent reviews here read clean and specific. For anything bigger, pin down start times and firm commitments up front given the two concerns above.

They did a great job fixing my yard up for the summer! I had some patches of grass that needed reseeding and general care, as well of lots of tree work, and they did a great job!! I will definitely trust Skinner with my property in the future!

Very good, I would recommend them. Great group of workers. Slightly off on the small details. However I am in a large Townhouse community on the south shore and that’s difficult.

Excellent company for commercial landscaping. My colleagues have worked with Mike Sombronsky for years and he has always done a great job and ensured that all of our needs and concerns are met.

Great crew. Did a big patio for me and beautiful landscaping. Communication was smooth throughout the project, from the sale meeting to the project delivery, very happy with their work.
