Smart Choice Solutions keeps a consistent scorecard everywhere you look: 4.8 stars on Google, 4.6 on Birdeye, 4.7 on ecohome.co, a perfect 5.0 on Thumbtack, and an A+ from the Better Business Bureau. That kind of agreement across five separate listings is unusual for a small electrical outfit. The company runs out of 40 Eastern Ave in Malden and has been doing electrical work in the area for around a decade -- the BBB puts it at 11 years, Thumbtack at 12. Leandro Amancio, listed as vice president on the BBB filing, also passed a Thumbtack background check, and that same profile states its electrician holds a master electrician license -- though that credential is self-reported rather than something checked against a state board here. The reviews that exist point the same direction: customers describe wiring work handled carefully and explained clearly, and a new-construction job where the crew is credited with sorting out a problem other electricians had left behind. It's a small footprint, though -- each platform's review count tops out in the teens, and the BBB itself notes the business has never pursued accreditation despite its top letter grade. One thing worth squaring away before booking: Thumbtack's version of this profile lists a Peabody address rather than the Malden one on file with the BBB and elsewhere. Amancio's name ties the two together, so it looks like the same company operating under more than one listed address -- worth a quick check on which shop actually shows up. For a homeowner comparing electricians, Smart Choice Solutions reads as a small, consistently well-reviewed shop best suited to wiring and new-construction electrical work, with the caveats of a still-thin public review history and a license claim that hasn't been checked against the state registry.

I recently had Leo from Smart Choice Solutions handle some electrical work on my house, and I couldn’t be more pleased with their service. From start to finish, Smart Choice Solutions was professional, punctual, and incredibly detail-oriented. They explained everything clearly, kept the workspace tidy, and made sure all the new wiring was done to the highest standard. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone in need of reliable electrical work!

Smart Choice Solutions provided exceptional service, arriving on time, clearly explaining every step of the process, and completing the electrical work with meticulous attention to detail - I would highly recommend them to anyone needing reliable electrical repairs. Special thanks to Ravair Costa, Leo, and his team. It was 10 pm on cold night, and they came to fix the electrical issues just the phone once. Thank you.

For the high price of service that these guys charge, I would expect that the technician be able to speak english. This business sent a tech who spoke only portugeuse, and a few basic words of english. So, you can't communicate meaningfully with the person who is doing work on your home or ask them questions. Hard pass on this business in the future. EDIT: I am reviewing the correct business. It's called an alias, to protect my identity.
