Somax Lawn Care

Lawn work earns Somax both praise and complaints, with communication drawing criticism in April 2026. That Google reviewer said the company did good work on the lawn but did not return calls, and that reaching it took multiple emails. Somax describes itself as a family-owned lawn-care and landscaping business with 20 years in business, serving residential and commercial properties across MetroWest and the Boston area. Its website lists mowing, grading, planting, cleanups, hardscaping and snow removal, with a service area including Northborough, Hopkinton, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley and Boston. An October 2025 Google reviewer credited Somax with transforming their yard, keeping the grass green with defined mowing lines, and planting hydrangeas. In July 2024, another customer said Jose quoted a fair price for a large cleanup to push back encroaching weeds and vines, and praised the crews' work and responsive communication. A November 2024 Angi reviewer said mowing happened on schedule and covered the area requested. Other customers described problems with the mowing itself. A June 2025 Google reviewer said fast driving during lawn work tore up grass, crews did not respect lawn boundaries, and different workers arrived every other week. In May 2024, a customer complained about an unpredictable mowing schedule, including gaps of two weeks during peak season, difficulty reaching the company by phone, and a lawn that had worsened. An October 2025 Google reviewer also reported that a company truck ran a red light and cut them off in Hopkinton. Older customers described planting and installation work alongside routine maintenance. In a January 2023 Google review, a customer said Jose and his crew helped with landscaping, plantings and sod installation, including plant choices and design. Another reviewer that month described lawn care at their home and business, a patio installation and gravel spreading. A third January 2023 reviewer praised the team's native planting in sensitive wetland and forested areas and its work following landscape architects' plans.
