Somerset Glass Co., Inc. works out of 1785 County St in Somerset and splits its time between two fairly different jobs: commercial and industrial architectural aluminum - storefronts, curtain wall, entrances and impact-resistant systems - and everyday residential glazing like shower enclosures, mirrors and insulated window replacement. The Better Business Bureau lists the corporation as started in 1976 and incorporated in 1980, and the company's own site says it has served southern New England for over forty years. The credential worth knowing is verified rather than self-reported: the Massachusetts state registry shows Home Improvement Contractor licence #186646 active, held by SOMERSET GLASS CO INC. BuildZoom additionally lists a Rhode Island commercial contractor registration, #36992, but notes the expiration date it last verified was July 2021 - worth confirming directly for work across the state line. BBB grades the company A+ without accrediting it. Customer feedback is limited in volume but consistent on one point: the shop takes on odd, made-to-measure glass. A 2022 reviewer ordered a custom sliding glass door for a 6x3x3 vivarium and said it arrived in six days against a two-week quote, with exact measurements and a lower price than expected. Another 2022 reviewer had a windshield and rear hatch glass supplied for a car restoration and called the work top quality at reasonable prices, and a 2023 customer thanked the shop for repairing screens a beagle had busted out. Reviewers in early 2023 described the counter staff as pleasant and helpful. Google shows 4.6 stars across 31 ratings. The one detailed complaint is about scheduling rather than workmanship. In a January 2025 review, a customer who paid in full on a Friday for a cut piece of plexiglass described being told across several days that nobody was on hand to cut glass, well past the one-to-two-day turnaround originally quoted. That is the thing to pin down: ask for the current lead time in writing, and who is cutting, before leaving a deposit on a small walk-in order. Commercial work shows up in fewer places but is documented: BuildZoom samples a single permit, a $17,000 commercial window replacement on County St in Attleboro in November 2021, and a 2022 retrofit trade-magazine credit names the company as the supplier of a display case and primary shower in a farmhouse renovation. A 2022 Boston Business Journal piece describes founder Rapoza's company as a commercial glazing firm in southeastern Massachusetts. For custom, replacement and specialty glass in the Fall River area they are a reasonable call - confirm the schedule up front.

““Since we are an Architectural Aluminum and Glass Storefront company we thought we would try our hands at installing Aluminum Composite Panels on a project we were working on. This was a perfect match for us. The job consisted of 198 total panels (5848 sq.ft.) and with ECMS scanning of the building every panel fit as it should have. Since our project has been completed we have been awarded a 2nd project and in negotiation with a 3rd. Well done ECMS." ... William Hand | Somerset Glass Co. Inc.”
