The work people actually hire them for runs underground. Replacing a failed septic system before a home sale comes up again and again in reviews: one 2025 homeowner described the whole job -- engineering, town approvals, a new tank, a leach field, then landscaping and hydroseeding after -- as timely and professional, with the crew coming back the next day after a heavy rain just to check the grounds. Another 2025 review closing on a house said much the same: fast, professional, worth recommending. A separate 2025 Houzz review covers a different kind of dig -- tearing out an old driveway, reshaping the slope and building a retaining wall for drainage -- and calls Stephen Soper's crew prompt and easy to work with. There isn't much to flag before calling. The company isn't BBB accredited and BBB hasn't rated it, which reflects a lack of information on file rather than any complaint. BuildZoom shows a Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration under a newer license number, alongside an older one it now lists as inactive. For a septic replacement, a driveway regrade, or another excavation-heavy project in the towns it covers, this is a company with six decades of local history and a small, consistent run of recent five-star jobs behind it. For anything closer to an indoor remodel, ask directly -- what's on record here is mostly about what's underground and out front.

In a world where too many people are simply looking to make a buck, Stephen stands out for his honesty, kindness, and commitment to excellence. I truly cannot recommend him highly enough. We need more people like Stephen Soper in this world.

Soper Construction did a fantastic job from start to finish on repairing my septic. This included engineering, town approvals, new tank, leechfield, landscaping and hydroseeding. Even a day after the grounds were finished coming back after torrential down pours proactively to ensure the final landscape was perfect!! I definitely highly recommend Soper!! 🏡
