South Shore Screen & Window operates out of a garage next to the owner's home in the Quincy/Holbrook area — recent reviewers mention pulling into the driveway and getting greeted before they'd even parked. It's a walk-in, drop-off repair shop for window and door screens: sliding doors, screen porches, gazebo screens, and custom pet-proof screening, done for both homeowners and businesses. The pattern in the last few months is speed. One customer brought in an old, bent Andersen window screen with small holes and had it back looking new in 15 minutes. Another dropped off eight full-size screens on a Monday and picked them up finished the next day. A porch job with two screens was turned around in about an hour. That tracks with the shop's broader history — 113 reviews stretching back to 2021 across four sources, Google alone showing 4.8 stars from 183 ratings, and a listed membership in the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce. That's not a handful of one-off fans; it's a long run of quick, inexpensive fixes. The one real blemish in that recent stretch is a May review describing a screened-porch job: the owner talked the customer into replacing every screen rather than just the damaged ones, and the new screens came loose after the season's first snowstorm. It's worth asking specifically how screens get fastened to the frame on a porch or gazebo job that has to survive a New England winter, since that's exactly where this complaint traces back to. For a torn screen, a foggy window pane, or a same-day repair, this is a shop with an active Massachusetts contractor license and a long, largely positive track record behind it. For a bigger porch or gazebo re-screen, get the fastening method spelled out before the crew starts.

So happy I found this place! Bill is very personable and what a quick turn-around. No waiting 2-3 weeks for repairs. It was more like 2-3 days. Great pricing, too, compared to the other stores. Thank you!

Drove right by South Shore Screen and Window because it is a house and work is done next to the house in the garage. I was immediately greeted when I pulled in the driveway and had help getting my screen slider out of my SUV. I thought I would drop it off and come back later but it was fixed on the spot. Very happy with the repair and price was reasonable.

Great place for screen repair. I brought an old Andersen window screen with a bent frame and small holes, and SS Screen & Window completed the repair in 15 minutes, and the screen looks as good as new. Highly recommend.

We hired this company to repair our screened porch. Initially, I only wanted to replace the damaged screens, but Bill, who said he was the owner, recommended replacing all of them. I trusted his recommendation and moved forward with the full repair. Unfortunately, after the first snowstorm, all of the new screens came loose and broke — they only lasted about two weeks. I later realized the new screens had only been screwed in, while the previous ones were properly secured to the wood, which is why they had lasted much longer. After the damage, I asked Bill to come back and clean up the broken materials, which took nearly a month. It has now been over two months, and I still have no response regarding the repairs. My calls and texts have gone unanswered. Very disappointed with both the quality of the work and the lack of professionalism and communication afterward. I paid for a repair that lasted only two weeks. That was my experience — good luck if you choose to hire this company.

Bill was a pleasure to work with! We’ve been wanting to fix our gazebo screens for a while and found South Shore Screen on Google. Bill was great with communication, fair on pricing and completed the project timely. The end result was better than we could have expected! Thank you Bill!
