Space Moving and Storage

Space Moving keeps showing up in the story of the move that almost fell apart — the rented truck that had to be emptied by Sunday night after another company canceled, the last-minute emergency Alex says he "jumped in like a superhero" to handle within 24 hours. Based in Waltham, the company (also doing business as Space Movers LLC) handles local and long-distance moves, packing, and storage across Massachusetts and to other states. The name that comes up across years of reviews is Andrei, described running crews that wrap furniture carefully, navigate tight staircases without scuffing walls, and reassemble beds and other furniture on the other end. A Nextdoor neighbor in Weston described using the company twice — once to unload after a move from Colorado, once to pack and move — and recommended it by name to neighbors. Reviewers describe protecting a marble table, fitting a refrigerator into a tight space, and working through a 96-degree day without stopping. Pricing comes up as a strength too: several reviewers say Space Moving's quote was the most reasonable of several they collected, including one who got just a 2-hour minimum against a 3-hour minimum elsewhere. The written record also holds real complaints, mostly from 2022 through 2024: a 2023 review describes the company taking a deposit, confirming a date, then going unreachable on moving day; a 2022 review describes broken items and cut parking-space bolts; a September 2024 review calls the movers themselves fine but says the company forgot a requested storage unit until moving day, turning a two-part move stressful; and a June 2025 review describes a misleading quote, an overcharge, and a rug that went missing. The Better Business Bureau grades the company F, a sharp contrast with its 4.8-star average across 131 Google ratings and 4.9 stars across 347 Thumbtack ratings. Space Moving is a strong call for a standard local or long-distance move, especially on short notice — get the quote and any storage arrangements confirmed in writing, since the complaints on file cluster around scheduling and storage handling rather than the physical moving work itself.
