Forty-eight people have rated Speedy Moving Company 4.8 on Thumbtack, and it has been hired through the platform 71 times — a family-run Brighton outfit of five, seven years in business, badged Top Pro in both 2021 and 2022. What customers keep describing is care with the fragile things. Writing in June 2021, one described a two-bedroom move from Massachusetts to Maine — mirrors, antiques, a big-screen TV — with the fragile items opened and inspected in front of her before the crew left, and said the company matched the two international corporate moves she had been through. In October 2020 another described two movers arriving fifteen minutes early and working five hours straight, taking the house apart and reassembling it at the far end. A June 2022 customer counted three movers, five minutes early. The one criticism is about money, and it is worth reading before booking. A customer writing in February 2021 rated the crew highly — the most professional of everyone she spoke to, careful with the furniture — but called the pricing opaque: she paid $25 each for moving blankets she would have bought herself had she known, and the materials came to about the same as the 2.5 hours of labour. The published terms support the caution: an hourly rate with a three-hour minimum, travel time charged both to and from the office, supplies billed separately, and 3% added for card payments. Two caveats on the numbers. The star bar puts 4% of those 48 ratings at one star — roughly two — and none of those accounts is readable, so what sits behind them cannot be weighed. And the readable record stops: the newest is June 2022, so nothing describes how the crews have worked in the last four years. The business also states "Se habla español". For a local or New England long-distance move where furniture needs taking apart and putting back together, this is a reasonable shortlist entry. Get the materials list and the travel time quoted in writing before the truck is booked.

The 3 movers arrived 5 minutes early. They handled all packages and furniture wirh care! They did not hesitate to take anything and even packed miscellaneous items into boxes efficiently. My boyfriend and I were VERY impressed and grateful for Speedy Movers! I HIGHLY recommend Speedy Moving Company. They packed and moved household goods from MA to ME. Several mirrors, antiques, big screen tv, etc. Everything was packed with care and delivered promptly. Upon arrival in ME the fragile items were opened & inspected before the crew departed. All were in good form. I've made two international moves and Speedy Moving Co. equals, if not excels those corporate movers. Eric is professional, responsive, polite, easy to work with. His company offers good value for a job well done. Again, can't say enough good things, highly recommend. They showed up on time and worked fast, but took great care with our furniture. They were great and I would definitely use again. My only issue was pricing. It was pretty opaque in turns of materials they used, as an example. I didn't know I needed moving blankets to store furniture in pod. If I did, I would have bought myself and not paid $25 a piece. Just an FYI, the cost of materials was about the same as the 2.5 hours on site, which seems pretty high. So just be prepared for what the final cost will be or ask better questions when you are booking them. After speaking with many pros, they were the most professional and I am very glad we hired them, pricing aside. My mother has recently had knee surgery and is moving out of the family home in the next few months. She needed a lot of help with packing and moving items to the first floor of the house. The two gentlemen who showed up on time were super efficient and treated all her belongings with care. She called to FaceTime me as soon as they'd left to show me all the progress they were able to make in a few short hours. We will definitely be considering them for her eventual final move!
