A recent customer needed a dishwasher that was wired directly into the wall disabled and an outlet installed, and Starr Electric found a way to use an existing outlet instead, saving them hundreds of dollars. On Google, the company holds 5 stars from 9 ratings. A 2026 customer had Starr Electric install two outlets in a garage, fix a hanging light and install a switch, which meant running wires from the garage to the basement. That 2026 customer said the garage job was done in less than 4 hours, and that a GFI was installed at no extra cost after they found no existing ground wire. In a 2025 review, a customer said James replaced the meter, reconnected the wires to the house and changed the panel after water was found streaming into the panel through the meter. A 2025 customer with an emergency panel issue said James and Nick showed up the same day to assess it and were back first thing the next morning to get the job done. A 2025 customer said James updated all of the electrical throughout their older home. Its Connecticut electrician licence, ELC.0207393-E1, is active under James C Starr Jr.
James Starr and his team are amazing. Highly recommended!
James and the team are dependable, and provide a high quality service. This company shows up when others are too busy! Call James if you need help with any of your electrical needs, whether its a power service, internal circuits or the sound of "angry bacon" cooking in your wall.
Very reasonable prices and good work! Honest, efficient, and very helpful. We had to disable a dishwasher that was wired directly into the wall and install an outlet, and they found a way to save us hundreds of dollars by utilizing an already existing outlet we didn't need. Great work and very personable. These guys are great and highly recommended. I will be using them again for future work.
10 Stars! The whole process from start to finish was beyond my expectations. Calling and making an appointment was easy. They answered the first time I called, and we set up a day for them to come over. They showed up right on schedule. I had them install 2 outlets in my garage as well as fix a hanging light and install a switch. They quoted me fairly and immediately got to work. They had to run wires from the garage to the basement which meant drilling through several walls and finding a route to the fuse box. This was no problem at all for them. These men have nothing but SOLUTIONS. After realizing there was no existing ground wire in my garage, they installed a GFI(another outlet) at no extra cost. A week later they came back for another job in the basement replacing some wiring and a junction box monstrosity from the 40's. Just as before, showed up on time, fair quote and got right to work. In both instances, I'm very happy with their work. These are professionals and it reflects in their service, speed and efficiency. The garage job they had done in less than 4 hours. The basement job was done in less than 2 hours. I also want to mention how polite and friendly James and Nick from Starr Electric were. These are exactly the type of people you want in your home. I like these guys. I'm going to have them do more work here soon.
