Stove Place II is a family-run gas, wood, and electric fireplace and stove dealer in Harwich Port, MA on Cape Cod, selling and installing fireplace inserts, stoves, glass doors, and gas logs since 1979. Reviewers from 2021 through 2026 consistently praise the sales and installation team. The owner, Jeff, is named repeatedly for patiently walking customers through options and handling installs honestly, and staff members Bob, Kevin, Mark, Joe, and Chris are credited for prompt, professional work — including a 2024 install that required building a custom framework to fit a fireplace into a narrow space between two windows, and a 2025 install completed on a tight schedule before winter weather set in. The business carries a 4.9-star Google rating from 38 ratings and an A+ Better Business Bureau grade. One thing worth asking about: a December 2022 review described a homeowner who had inherited a fireplace from a previous owner in the neighborhood being told the business, after 41 years, was not accepting new customers for standalone servicing — so it's worth confirming up front whether service-only work is available if you didn't buy your unit there. Local news coverage going back to 2000 has tracked the store through shifting heating trends — wood to gas and pellet demand, and a 2016 report that a gas-main moratorium in the area had cut into business — and a 2021 feature from fireplace manufacturer Sólas highlighted a custom built-in gas fireplace installation. Stove Place II is a strong fit for Cape Cod homeowners looking for a knowledgeable, long-established local dealer to buy from and have install the unit.

“Larry Carbonneau, owner of the Stove Place II in Harwich Port, says 99 percent of his sales are gas stoves.”
Super happy with our new gas fireplace! Jeff and the whole crew over at Stove Place II are truly experts in everything related to gas fire places. They ordered and installed the fireplace quickly and promptly. Also, when I was selecting the fireplace, Jeff was very honest about which fireplace would best suit my needs, rather than trying to upsell me on the more expensive models. Finally, they’ve provided excellent customer service post- installation. Last night, I was hearing a bit of a funny noise coming from the fireplace, and Jeff was over and fixed it first thing in the morning. Highly recommend!
Stove place II was in formative, honest, and did a terrific job installing and arranging for good plumber and electrician. Competitors never followed up. I will recommend them every time
Prompt and courteous installation! I had a few design challenges that were met with creativity and skill. And installation was completed just before the blizzard and immediately paid off. I had walked into the store seeking an alternative heat source in case the power ever went out! Perfect timing! Easy to operate and maintain. And now the dog sits in front of it waiting for me to turn it on.
We had a problem with our gas fireplace insert not turning on. We called Stove Place II & Jeff, the owner, (who was so friendly & kind) set up an appointment for us to send out Kevin to see what the problem was. Kevin showed up timely, removed his shoes before entering our home, & got to work. He replaced the pilot light, took the whole unit apart & cleaned everything & made it look brand new! It works like a charm now!! We could not be more pleased & truly anazed & grateful for a job well done from the first contact with them to the finish! Thank you so much!
Always helpful. I snapped the battery cover on my gas fireplace remote transmitter. They were able to find a replacement cover for $10 Always there to help out. Can’t go wrong with these guys!
