Streeter Plumbing & Heating

Forty-eight years in one town. Streeter Plumbing & Heating has worked out of Winthrop since 1978, and its permit file — 101 jobs, twelve of them in the past three years — reads like a neighbourhood plumbing and gas shop: boilers, backflow preventers, water heater swaps, and bathroom and kitchen fixture renovations in Winthrop, Revere, Malden, East Boston and Burlington. Its Massachusetts plumber licence, 10459-PL-M, is active, held by Kenneth Streeter. Thirteen people work there. The published customer record is only three reviews deep, and it splits. In November 2025 a customer with a heating fault another company had failed to fix said Streeter sent someone who removed any doubt about his qualifications, explained the problem and got it moving. In January 2026 a long-time customer described a family-run team under owner Kenny — friendly, responsive, skilled and reasonably priced. The third is a one-star from March 2026, and it is about the office rather than the pipework: the caller said a call the office insisted it had made never appeared in their own phone log, and the exchange turned sour from there. Nothing in that account disputes the work itself; the dispute is about communication. One more thing worth knowing before calling. The directory record around this business is untidy. BuildZoom lists several Massachusetts and City of Newton licence entries as unverified, long expired, or at one point cancelled, and shows a Winthrop address and phone that differ from the BBB's. The state registry is the one that counts, and it comes back active — but if you want the current registration on paper, ask for it. For gas work and heating faults in Winthrop and the towns around it, this is a long-established shop with a real permit trail. Pin the appointment down in writing.
