Several electricians looked at the broken transfer switch panel that controlled how a homeowner's small generator took over in an outage. Dan Strom was the one who came back with a different answer — an interlock kit — and the customer wrote in December 2025 that it beat everything else they had been offered. Strom Electric is a family-owned contractor working out of Natick and Waltham, covering Wellesley, Natick and the towns around them, and the company says it has been at it since 1990. Dan Strom's Massachusetts electrician licence, 37269, is active on the state registry, and BuildZoom records 87 electrical permits pulled under his name since 2018 across MetroWest and Greater Boston. The work customers describe is everyday residential electrical done carefully. A May 2026 client listed a charger for a plug-in hybrid, replacement bathroom ceiling fans and new outlets to run bidets, and called him a good problem solver in an old house. In November 2023 a homeowner whose rooms kept losing power had him find the loose wiring straight away, show them what was wrong and explain it so they understood before he fixed it. In July 2025 a customer anxious about a toilet leak said he put her mind at ease and told her what to do if it happened again. Reaching him is the part to plan for. A September 2024 customer who found him on Yelp noted that he prefers email, and said it was a relief after other electricians never got back to them. But the most recent review, from August 2026, gives three stars from a customer who found him hard to get hold of and thought replacing an outlet and running a grounding wire was extremely expensive. For everyday residential electrical work in Natick, Wellesley and Waltham — fans, outlets, EV charging, generator switching, old-house troubleshooting — a licensed electrician with 87 permits behind him is a strong call. Get the price in writing before the work starts, and confirm the details by email; that is where the one unhappy customer's trouble began.
Not easy to get in touch with and the cost of an outlet replacement and grounding wire was extremely expensive.
We've had Dan install a charger for our plug-in hybrid vehicle, replace bathroom ceiling fans, add outlets to bathrooms to accommodate bidets, and much more. Always amazing work by Strom Electric! He is prompt, thorough and an excellent problem solver in our old home. Thank you Dan!
Dan was excellent. We needed to replace a broken transfer switch panel to control how our small generator would take over if the power went out. Of several electricians we had come in, Dan was the only one to come up with an original solution (an interlock kit) that was far superior to the one we had planned on and all the other electricians were suggesting. Best of all, Dan's quote was very fair and the least of all the quotes we received. He did great work and took the time to explain the new system to me. I highly recommend his services.
Dan was great! I was very worried about a toilet leak. He put my mind at ease and let me know what to do if anything like it happens again. 10/10, he’s amazing!
Great electrician that goes above and beyond! He does excellent work and provides exceptional customer service.
