Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, and the company says it covers Hull, Hingham, Cohasset, Scituate, Norwell, Marshfield, Quincy and Braintree. The praise is consistent and it is about the owner. A homeowner writing in November 2025 said Randy answered right away, understood the railing job immediately, came the next day, and returned a leftover piece for credit she would never have known about. In December 2025 another customer described several windows and new trim going in at what they called reasonable prices. Across Thumbtack the average is 5.0 from seven reviews and three hires, with 42 project photos posted; Google shows 5 stars from three ratings. Then there is the other side of the ledger, and it is not small. A May 2022 review on Angi rated the company half a star and accused the owner of overcharging for upcoming work, cancelling the project and keeping the money, of not tracking scope or his own proposal, and of being disrespectful to women. Angi and HomeAdvisor both average 2.8 from just two reviews because of it, and both flag the listing as "This pro is under review." That complaint is four years old and nothing like it appears since — but it is specific enough to raise before you hand over a deposit. A smaller oddity worth noticing: the Angi and HomeAdvisor pages carry an about-us blurb for a differently named company, Connolly Building and Devlopment LLC, and claim 26 years of experience while Thumbtack says eight. For a deck, a garage, siding or a window-and-trim job on the South Shore, the recent reviews are the ones that describe actual work. Get the scope and the payment schedule in writing, tie payments to completed stages, and confirm the registration number on the contract matches the one on file with the state.
