Matt Tavano runs a one- or two-person electrical operation — sometimes joined by an employee named Dom — and the reviews describe someone people keep calling back and keep referring to friends. One HVAC contractor who works with him on job sites says he's held Matt to the high bar he expects from every contractor he brings on-site, and Matt clears it every time; a widow going through her first home repairs on her own said Matt was patient and explained an electrical panel upgrade without overwhelming her. The work itself ranges from small, fast jobs to full rewires. He's swapped century-old panels, rerouted a dishwasher line, added recessed and pendant lighting for a kitchen remodel, wired a pool and a finished basement, and hard-wired a car charger instead of leaving it on a plug — a customer who took his advice reported it's still working perfectly a year later. When a homeowner's space heater caused an electrical fire, Matt came out quickly, diagnosed the cause, and made sure everything was safe before he left. Multiple reviewers mention he answers his phone and shows up when he says he will, and more than one salon owner found him through Thumbtack and had him handle their commercial electrical work the same way. Across Google, Angi, and Thumbtack, the written reviews run 61 deep with nothing negative among them, and his Massachusetts electrician license, #54747, is active and verified against the state registry. This is a strong call for anything from a simple outlet swap to a full panel or basement rewire — worth asking whether Dom or another helper will be on-site too if you need more than one person's worth of work done in a day.
Matt did a great job troubleshooting my electrical problem.I had a 50 year old electrical panel that was overloaded and had a bunch of loose wires and breakers. He replaced the panel with a brand new up to date safe panel .Took the time after installation to mark which breakers went to what room or piece of equipment in the house..also installed a gfi outlet for my dishwasher making it up to code .. very knowledgeable
Great quality work, and professional communication - will hire again for future electrical work! We moved into an old house (built in 1880s), and hired Matt to fix some electrical issues found in the inspection, to replace light fixtures, and install an overhead light in a room. Matt and his team ran into some surprises, like exposed wires due to bad electrical work done in the past, and handled the issues with care. Highly recommend Tavano Electric!
