A recent Google customer had a large oak leaning toward the house and thought it needed to come down. Teachers Tree Service convinced them that removing some large branches and dead wood could save it, and the climbers worked high in the trees without heavy equipment that would damage the yard. The company says it has been in business 23 years, and its website lists a service area running from Burlington, Winooski and Colchester to Shelburne, Charlotte, Vergennes, Middlebury and South Hero. A local news story on vtcng.com identifies Greg Ranallo, an arborist, as its owner. A recent customer had a tree removed at the agreed cost and noticed the company used an electric chainsaw and ran the chipper only when needed to cut the noise. A recent customer called in storm damage to a white poplar and said the company responded promptly at a fair price. A recent customer who is out of state said Connor gave a thorough estimate and sent photos of the work on request. A Burlington condo association wrote recently that it has worked with the company for 20 years, possibly more. A 2026 customer said a big old maple came down and a giant red oak was pruned, and that the arborist was right about the maple being rotten inside down to the ground. A 2025 customer said the crew took out a tree growing in a chimney 50 feet up. On vtdigger.org, Ranallo has said pesticide treatments, including ones his company provides, can deter emerald ash borer. A 2024 commenter on r/vermont said the ash trees around their place were treated with trunk injections by the company. A 2026 commenter on r/burlington said they had the company take a tree down and treat an ash to try to save it from emerald ash borer. Another 2026 commenter on r/burlington seconded Teacher's Tree, calling the work fast and well done. A 2024 customer said they reached out three times, by website message, voicemail and email, and heard nothing in 18 days. A recent one-star customer said that at their appointment he talked with them for only a few minutes, while someone else who came out got more of the conversation.
“Seconding Teacher's Tree. Fast and well done.”
“With Teachers I had a dead tree in backyard that was going to fall on my fence, or at least looked as though it would. I had them take it down and also treat an Ash tree to hopefully save it from Emerald Ash Borer.”
“We have had the ash trees around our place treated with trunk injections by Teachers Tree Service.”

“Teachers Tree, Greg Randallo”
“Greg Ranallo, an arborist and the owner of Teachers Tree Service, walked along the sidewalk in front of the Shaw’s on Route 7 in South Burlington last week, stopping to point at a tree where the bark was stripped off, revealing a swirling pattern on the wood beneath.”
“Ranallo said pesticide treatments, including the ones his company provides, are a strategy that can deter EAB while still keeping ash trees”
The crew showed up early, they were very personable, did a great job, and an excellent job of cleaning up!! Definitely will use them again. Thank you.

Mat and Mac did a great job taking down a tough tree. Quick, efficient and under estimate.
I had a great experience with teachers tree Service from Consultation to Final Result. We walked my property , got a fair estimate and timeline and the communication before and during the work was perfect. They did a great job cleaning up and removing overgrowth in my yard as well as trees and bushes. I would highly recommend them.
Experienced, skilled crew who excel at what they do.
