Teheen Construction is a carpenter's shop first. Houzz files Michael Teheen under Woodworkers & Carpenters, and its service list reads like one: trim and crown molding, wainscoting, built-ins and bookcases, cabinets and vanities, fireplace mantels, interior and exterior doors, plus decks and pergolas. The written accounts are few and they are old. In a January 2021 Google review, a homeowner described Mike and his crew repairing and replacing portions of a rotting foundation, putting in long days to make the new one solid. A 2020 reviewer said the crew turned up early and kept the site clean and organized, and that when taking a house apart threw up the usual surprises, Mike laid out the options rather than just the bill. A 2018 customer had an outdated bathroom demolished and rebuilt and praised how the whole job was coordinated. A Houzz reviewer that same August said Michael sticks to budget and timeline and stays available for questions. Against that sits one 2016 Google review of the sharpest kind: showed up late, worked half days, charged $4,000 more than quoted, and did work the customer called subpar. It is ten years old and it is the only account like it, but it names a figure, and it is why a short run of five-star write-ups does not add up to a five-star company here. The paperwork is thin in both directions. BBB has not rated the business — it says it has insufficient information — and publishes no complaints and no reviews. It records a Massachusetts Board of Building Regulations and Standards licence number, 149787, running to February 2027, but that is BBB's own record rather than a verification. BBB also files the company under 'Hardware Sales', plainly the wrong category for a construction business. Michael Teheen owns it, BBB puts it at three employees, and it belongs to the Ipswich Chamber of Commerce. Best suited to finish carpentry and built-in work on the Cape Ann side of the North Shore — the stated service area runs Ipswich, Hamilton, Topsfield, Rowley, Wenham, Essex, Manchester, Boxford, Danvers and Beverly. Since the newest written account is from January 2021, ask for a couple of 2025 or 2026 references, and get the change-order terms written into the quote.

Teheen Construction is efficient and thorough. Mike and his crew repaired & replaced portions of our rotting foundation and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Mike went above and beyond to make sure our new foundation is very solid, putting in some really long days. His finishing work on the exterior is flawless. This was done on time and within budget. I 100% plan to use Teheen Construction for my future projects.

Very professional. Mike and his crew were always early and very very clean and organized. As to be expected with any project there was a few surprises while taking a house apart. During these instances Mike went out of his way to explain what could be done while giving me many scenarios and options along with his personal critique and opinion. I can’t say enough good about these guys I recommend them to all my friends and family.

Michael Teheen and his team demolished an old, outdated bathroom and completed a new one for us. They did the job professionally, accurately and efficiently. All aspects were well coordinated, communication between us was excellent, and everyone involved put in a hard day's work, never leaving a mess behind. The job was finished in a timely manner and we are more than happy with the result.

Worst experience I've had with a contractor. Did not show up on time, worked half days, and charged me 4 grand more than I was quoted. AND work was subpar. This man is a hack. Do NOT do business with this man.... Will post pictures later.
