Ask most roofers about a leak and the estimate comes back as a whole new roof. TekRoof's customers keep telling a different story. A Jamaica Plain property manager writing in 2023 said the company had been hired at least a dozen times for everything from small repairs to replacements, and called them who to call when no one else can find the leak. A homeowner in 2021 said they were the only company willing to just fix the roof instead of telling them to replace it. Leak-finding and repair is what people call this crew for. The company works out of Marlborough and says on its own site that it is a family-owned roofing company of more than 20 years, covering Greater Boston and Central Massachusetts. It names no founder and no founding year. Customers supply the name instead: Rafael turns up in review after review, from the first estimate through the final cleanup, and a 2023 reviewer described him as the owner. Google carries 4.9 stars across 73 ratings, and the written reviews run from 2021 into 2026. Two habits recur across those years. The first is documentation: a commercial customer in December 2025 described a full gutter replacement plus a series of patched holes in a rubber roof, with photos and videos of all the work performed, and a homeowner the month before said the crew sent real-time progress photos through a roof replacement that started and finished on schedule. The second is cleanup, which comes up so often across five years of reviews that it reads as company policy. The work runs wider than shingles. Reviewers describe slate repair and rebuilt copper-lined wooden gutter boxes on a retail property (2023), a rubber roof and gutter replacement on a commercial building (2025), siding on the eastern side of a building (May 2026), a re-roof of an 1800s barn (2022), and Spanish clay tile, which a 2021 reviewer said few Massachusetts roofing companies know how to handle. Two things to raise on the call. In 2022 one customer left a single star: a salesman came out and quoted, then went silent for more than ten days despite a follow-up, and they hired someone else. It is the lone complaint in five years of writing, but it is worth pinning down who owns your file after the estimate. A 2023 customer also noted reaching an after-hours answering person no matter what time they called, and otherwise had no issue. If you have a leak nobody else has traced, or a repair you would rather not see turned into a replacement, this is the outfit people go back to. Get the scope and the follow-up schedule in writing at the estimate, since that is the one place a customer has been left waiting.
