On Thumbtack the business calls itself Tekton Artisan Carpentry and says it still uses old-fashioned techniques. A recent customer described several projects from 2025 to 2026, from outside door replacements and opening the kitchen to the living room to a full door, molding and floor replacement. That customer said the crew cleaned up each day and Sam was clear on pricing, details and time estimates. A recent customer said Tekton replaced "a large picture" and remedied some rot at a fair price. A 2025 customer said Sam and his crew finished a room and closet above the garage. A 2025 customer said Sam and his team took out old ceilings, replaced them with new drywall and prepped for painters. A 2025 customer whose bathroom project was still unfinished said it was going well. A 2024 customer said the team assembled a pre-fab gazebo kit and the owner got them on the schedule fast. A 2023 customer said Sam took care of a damaged overhang and soffit. A recent one-star account came from a customer who hired Sam for a large renovation at a daycare center. That customer said Sam had to come back to fix a roof leak, a ramp he built had to be redone, and commercial vinyl flooring he installed keeps coming up and breaking because the floor was not prepped correctly. The same customer said Sam came three times to fix the floor, is no longer responding to messages, and that they are being forced to take him to court.
Sam and his crew did an exceptional job transforming our basement, adding a bedroom, bathroom, and closet with a thoughtfully designed layout that maximized the space beautifully. Sam was professional, honest, and respectful throughout the entire project. We are very happy with the results. Would highly recommend Sam and his crew.
Sam appeared very knowledgeable, honest, and overall like a guy who took pride in his work so we hired him to do a pretty big renovation for me at my daycare center. We closed for a week and he was able to meet the deadline of that for most of it, which itself was impressive. There were issues during the remodel but he handled them as they were brought up, for the most part. Some of the things made us question if he knew what he was doing, but we trusted him and he reassured us. He did have to come back to fix a roof leaking problem. The ramp he built had to be redone and then it looked like it was rushed and not done professionally. The biggest issue we are having now is that he installed commercial vinyl flooring but did not prep the floor correctly so it keeps coming up and breaking. This happened shortly after it was installed. There are soft spots from an uneven floor underneath and his "remedy" was to come drill holes and put spray foam in them, which of course didn't last. He has come 3 times to fix the floor but the last time, he glued down the pieces after putting cement floor leveler underneath. Within a month, we had broken flooring again because he didn't fix the problem. Now he is not responding to our messages and I am left with flooring that has edges sticking up, and is breaking, and I am forced to take him to court to remedy this. I think he has areas that he did a good job (he did a great job on my daycare sign) but other areas that he just doesn't have the knowledge and instead of admitting it and fixing it correctly, he doesn't care because he already got paid ( a lot of money I might add). I would not recommend him for any major jobs (especially structural) and if you do, get everything in writing and take pictures. I am thankful that I did so that I can prove that what I am saying is true.

Tekton performed several projects between 2025 and 2026. They ranged from outside door replacements, creating an open concept between our kitchen and living room, to as large as a full door, molding and floor replacement. Tekton's crew was communicative, answered all our questions, and was respectful of the property cleaning up each day. Sam was very clear on pricing, details, and time estimates. Overall, we're pleased with all of the work Tekton performed.
Sam and his team are simply the best. Smart, efficient, attention to detail, fair, and a pleasure to work with. Cannot recommend them more!
