Fences and stonework are the two halves of The Best Fencing & Masonry, a Wolcott company whose reviews mix a replaced six-foot wood fence with re-pointed foundation brick and rebuilt stone walls. On Angi and HomeAdvisor it says it has over 15 years of experience; its Thumbtack profile says it has been in business for 4 years. A 2019 reviewer called Amet the owner, and Matt is the name in several other reviews. The current reviews are short and positive: a September 2026 Thumbtack customer said he was up front about the cost and offered more than one way to solve the problem, and an August 2026 reviewer said Matt and Jimmy did the job well. Older accounts carry the detail. In April 2022, a homeowner said the crew rebuilt their front steps over four days, fixed the fence while they were there, redirected gutter water away from it, and were candid when a foundation issue pushed the price up a little. A May 2022 customer got a driveway, sidewalk and fence; a March 2022 reviewer said a stacked rock wall was repaired the same Saturday as the estimate. In a September 2020 review, a homeowner described written quotes for several masonry projects and the exterior foundation brick re-pointed in two days, on the date agreed about four weeks out. The complaints are older. A May 2019 review said a walkway job was strung out and its end was not symmetrical, and a July 2021 reviewer liked the work but called it expensive. It holds 5.0 stars from 14 Thumbtack ratings, where it was a Top Pro in 2023, and 4.6 from 12 on both HomeAdvisor and Angi. The Best Fencing & Masonry LLC holds an active Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0654532.
Extremely nice and was very up front about the cost. It was well priced for what I needed done. And he didn't only give me one option on how to solve my problem. I would definitely hire him in the future.
Matt and Jimmy were great. The job was well done and Matt was professional and dependable. I would highly recommend Matt.
Excellent service and outstanding workmanship. The team was professional, delivered high-quality work, and offered great value. Everything was completed as promised, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Highly recommend!
