The Helpful Handyman works out of Leominster, and the reviews all point to the same person: Peter "Pete" Leonardi, who customers describe hiring for everything from deck stairs to cabinet doors. One 2026 review lists an especially wide-ranging job — stairs off several decks, a swing set, a kids' picnic table, a sandbox, a ride-on car track, a fire pit, solar driveway lights and a trellis — which the homeowner says came together faster than expected. The track record is entirely five stars: ten Google reviews, none negative, spanning 2025 into 2026. Several reviewers have used him for years rather than a single job — one 2025 review describes 15 years of repeat work at the same house, and another cites 20 years of "dependable service and quality workmanship" across many different repairs, replacements and assemblies. A 2026 review describes him installing a door and walking the homeowner through the options first. Recent activity keeps the same pattern: no negative reviews in the last six months. Pricing and punctuality come up unprompted. A 2025 reviewer compared quotes before hiring him and called his estimate "not too low and not too high," calling that the sign of an honest tradesperson; another calls him on time, which they note is rare these days. One longtime customer lists cabinet, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom door work by name, and another recommends him broadly for carpentry, with electrical and plumbing mentioned in passing as things he can also handle. There's no BBB page or other directory profile to check against — Google is the only place reviews exist for him, so these ten are the whole written record. This looks like the right call for carpentry-heavy handyman work — deck and stair repairs, custom outdoor builds, door and cabinet installs — from a Leominster-area tradesperson with a long list of repeat customers. Confirm current availability, and whether electrical or plumbing work is still something he takes on, since that comes up only once and without detail.
Peter did a excellent job building stairs off several decks. He worked with me to provide times he would be there he came in the morning he worked throughout the day I was amazed how fast the projects came along. I also asked him to build a swing set, kids picnic table, sandbox and a ride around car, fire pit, hang solar lights for the driveway and a trellis He did a wonderful job I definitely will have him come back to do more things around the house.
Pete installed a door for us recently and his work was excellent. He did a great job on both installation and walking us through our options
Helped me out with a project. Did a great job. Would use again!
I had to cancel last minute due to an emergency with my cat. He was very polite and professional, and handled the situation with understanding when I called. Highly recommend for his great attitude and communication!
Pete has been doing work at my house for about 15 years. I have always been pleased with his work and work ethics. He has shared many ideas for improvements I wouldn’t have thought of on my own. I have no problems recommending Pete for any work you may need done. Reviewed by Kathryn Morel.
