Robson/Matheus/Spotless/Transparency broke the law and lied about their ability to keep our family safe. We had confirmed lead paint in the exterior of our house. We had young children under six years old, so this was a concern. Robson and his team knew about the lead paint, as Robson himself did the lead test and attached an extra fee in our contract for having to follow EPA guidelines for lead paint. Despite the knowledge of lead paint, and despite his assurance he would follow the law, Robson did not properly educate his work team and then lied to us about our possible exposure (his words to us were "dry scraping does not release lead dust"--this is completely false). The work team left windows open, did not tape or put plastic up over our doors, did not post signs alerting passerby to the presence of lead paint, did not give us the required Renovate Right pamphlet, and only put down plastic sheeting loosely in a few places. We found paint chips all over our property, and a team of professional lead analysists found more than one hundred times the safe level of lead dust allowed by law in some of our window wells, and our thresholds and window sills also tested high for lead dust. Robson therefore put our children at significant risk of lead poisoning. We tried to negotiate with Robson a deal to pay us back for our significant expenses due to his negligence and to reimburse us our deposit, since we put more time into cleaning and meeting with specialists than his crew spent on the work. Robson delayed communication and kept asking for more time. Then he offered to pay us the money owed to us, but a few days later decided he didn't want to pay and told us we needed to bring him to court. After he lost his trial due to failure to respond to the judge, he finally paid us our money back. The lesson you should take from this: stay away, very far away. Not only is Robson/Transparency/Spotless NOT RRP certified (they would not provide this information to us, but they are not listed on the EPA’s website) and therefore should not work on houses built before 1978, but he endangered our children and cost us a great deal of money and time to clean up his mistakes. TLDR: Stay away. And if your house was build before 1978, use an RRP certified painter. Note: Know your rights when it comes to lead! We only learned all of this after the fact because we had to research the law after finding all of the paint chips. The EPA is investigating this company as well.

I was referred to Transparency painting for a 16 unit build I was working on. Matt, Victor, and the entire team have been polite, professional, efficient, and incredibly low maintenance, while still delivering a quality job. I have been on some tight schedules for closings, and these guys have shown up early, worked around everyone without complaint, and have found a way to always get the job done.
