Nine of the ten people who wrote about Tri Nguyen Tile & Co. gave it five stars. The tenth wrote 1,400 words explaining why they went to the police. Both halves of that record matter, and both are now several years old. The company is based at 16 Andrew Street in Everett and describes itself as owner-operated, licensed, bonded and insured, in business since 2012 — its own account, not something confirmed against the registry. The work it lists runs from tile and shower pans through bathroom and kitchen remodels to general contracting, with 23 projects posted. The positive accounts are specific and repeat the same picture: bathrooms, taken to the studs and rebuilt. A March 2021 client had two bathrooms renovated and called the finish immaculate. In November 2019 another described a gutted bathroom rebuilt with a walk-in shower, with the painting, tiling, electrical and plumbing all handled by the same crew and the site swept clean at the end of each day. A July 2020 client with an unworkable old bathroom layout credited him with sourcing materials and solving an awkward bidet-toilet install. Outside the bathroom, a September 2020 client had a 12-by-30-foot composite roof deck built on a one-way city street and said it came in at a fair price, ahead of the estimated finish date. A December 2018 client priced a ceramic tile floor, crown moulding and paint for a 623-square-foot one-bedroom and was offered a payment plan. Now the other side. The October 2019 one-star reviewer, on a $120,000 job, wrote that the quality of work and the communication both fell away as the project ran on, that there were no formal quotes and the price rose without explanation, and — as HomeAdvisor's page records — that materials were taken from the property and a police report was filed. That is one customer's account, contested by nobody in writing, and it sits alongside nine positive ones. It is also a specific, serious complaint about money and conduct, which is exactly the kind that should slow you down. Two practical steps if you call: get a written, itemised quote and a change-order process agreed before work starts, and ask for jobs completed since 2021, because the written history stops there.
Excellent. He renovated 2 bathrooms. His work is immaculate. He is easy to work with. He helps you out the best he can. He offers suggestions. Finished product is beautiful.
Tri and his team constructed a 12’x30’ roof deck with composite decking and a pressure treated base—a complicated project given my location on a one-way street in the city. The deck is beautiful, the price was fair, and the construction team was professional, respectful, and responsive throughout the project. They were able to complete the project before the estimated completion date. This is mostly due to the fact that they worked past 5pm on multiple occasions, and worked over a long holiday weekend. They’re work ethic was impressive to say the least. I have already recommended Tri and his team to close friends, and will certainly consider using Tri on any and all future projects.
Tri was great, I had a terrible, old bathroom with a layout that made no sense. Tri had lots of good ideas and he helped me source different materials. He listened to my needs and he even figured out how to install my super specific bidet toilet. I absolutely LOVE my new bathroom, and every morning I'm so glad that I did this renovation. There were hiccups, of course, but what construction project doesn't have that? I am surprised to see the previous review from fall of 2019- that is when Tri was doing my project as well. I wanted to wait a 6-12 months before reviewing to see how the work has held up. So far, so good. But I didn't have ANY of the issues from the previous reviewer. Tri was very professional, all of his contractors were as well, and I never had issues with any of them in my home (I do have security cameras throughout). He did explain any material costs or any changes to me, and I was able to provide my own materials at any time. The only one that I will agree with is that the subcontractor may not have been as skilled- my tile floor was not laid properly at first. When I pointed it out, Tri pulled it all up and redid the work, and I'm glad that he insisted on starting over and doing it properly. Overall, I was very pleased with the work and I would hire Tri again.
We were very pleased! Tri and his workers did a wonderful job! They did it all! Gutted and restored bathroom with new walk in shower Did the painting, tiling, electrical, and plumbing and every day when they left they cleaned and it was spotless The workers were very friendly and all knew their craft! We love our bathroom and would highly recommend Tri and his crew!
At first it went well, then his quality of work severely declined and so did his communication. He was incredibly unprofessional with not only poor and inconsistent communication but giving us no formal quotes and increasing the quote as he saw fit without any formal explanation or proof of paperwork. Although he was skilled his workers were not, and they were even more unprofessional treating the home as if it were there own and taking inappropriate liberties - stealing our light fixtures and napping on our furniture. Tri also had the habit of leaving beers in our fridge to drink during the job. The project which was supposed to last 2-3 months ended up taking 6 months. We gave him ample opportunity to finish the work. In fact, the final punch list was given to him in July and by the beginning of October we finally had to resort to an ultimatum to finish the punch list. He reacted immaturely and unprofessionally by ignoring us and then making up charges when the deadline approached to increase money even though he hadn't finished the project. We ended up settling on a figure for him to walk away and even after agreeing with us on that number - he decided to trespass and VANDALIZE OUR PROPERTY AND STEAL FROM US. He came in dead of night and removed materials from our exterior steps and decks and stole materials from our garage. When we confronted him, he admitted it and threatened to do more damage. We went to the police to file a report.
