TYPROWICZ HOME IMPROVEMENT, INC.

This guy is a disaster. He did a basic shower job for us 9 years ago and the whole thing has flooded, rotting out the central part of our house. It all needs to be ripped out and redone. You can expect drama, shoddy workmanship and a hack who really only cares about how much money he can get you for. We had similar complaints from other people who have used him.

The work he and his company did for us was substandard and left the house under construction far longer than even his own contract stipulated. Typrowicz uses a lot of poorly-paid apprentices who he'll leave at your house while he takes off for the day. I saw him do very little work himself. In our case the dry wall he did split and fractured a year after he left. A part of the ceiling his apprentices dry walled is now wonky and lost its clean lines. Another part still has exposed dry wall screws that were never covered. And siding on the house was nailed back improperly and nails were not caulked so that water got behind and the paint bubbled up and cracked so that we needed to have a new paint job. Men he sub contracted to install a new roof dropped nails in the floor beds which our children picked up. In amongst all this he left walls open, dusty drop cloths all over the place for a well over a month past the original contract completion date.

We first hired Typrowicz Home Improvement, Inc. in 2005 to renovate a small bathroom in our home. The estimate was fair, and the work was completed professionally, on time, and the job site was always neat and clean. Joe always returned our calls and made all the repairs in a timely manner. Jim added the finishing paint touches and gave me helpful guidance in picking the final color. We were very pleased with the bathroom and began recommending THI, Inc. to all of our friends and family. In 2006 we inherited a rental property (a 90 year-old home) which needed a total renovation, including a heating system and sewer work. We again hired THI, Inc. to gut and renovate a 1500 square foot farmhouse, including adding a new bathroom and gutting and rebuilding the kitchen. Once again, we were extremely pleased with the outcome, and continue to call THI, Inc. for maintenance, updates, and improvements to that home. In 2010, my parents bought an older home which needed an entire renovation. Again, THI, Inc. transformed a tired, dated house into a beautifully updated home, including new bathrooms and a state-of-the-art kitchen. Currently, in 2014, my daughter and her husband are in the process of renovating a circa 1975 ranch. THI, Inc is in the process of removing foil wallpaper, gold shag rugs, and paneling from this home. The process is almost complete, and the transformation to painted walls and beautiful hardwood floors has been an amazing and delightful process to watch. The entire process has been completed in a timely manner and they will be moving into their fresh, clean, beautifully updated home shortly. We have hired Typrowicz Home Improvement for many renovations. They do an excellent job, and we give it the highest recommendation. N.C.

At Artisan Stairs & Millwork we are very particular about the building professionals that we select to collaborate with. We have developed a strong working relationship with Joe Typrowicz an his dedicated team because of their professionalism, vision, and can-do attitude. A number of the projects on our Houzz site feature projects contracted by Typrowicz Home Improvement. If you are in the Longmeadow Mass area and have a project that needs attention to detail, we highly recommend that you set up a consultation with Joe. You will not be dissapointed!

Typrowicz Home Improvement has been a Godsend for our family, and our home. Contractors can be like physicians or mechanics, a good one is worth their weight in gold. Joe Typrowicz has quite literally undone many thousands of dollars in rookie mistakes that other contractors have performed in our home here in Longmeadow. Joe's assessments of the required repairs were to the point, and spot on. The final tally from Typrowicz Home Improvement differed only minimally from the initial quote, with any variance explained well in advance, and cleared with us, the homeowners. Joe Typrowicz and crew have been nothing but professional, and perform quality work on several projects in our home. We would not hesitate to call them back at moments notice for additional work, and they are now on speed dial on my home and mobile phone. As a severe asthmatic with many allergies, Joe and crew took all reasonable precautions to curb any reactions while performing mold abatement and water damage restorations that cover the majority of our first floor... no small feat. I am not sure what the previous reviewer is getting at, as these folks are as wonderful as they come, and we count our blessings for having been introduced to such an honest crew with such wonderful attention to detail. Keep up the good work, and we will be sure to call you folks with our next renovation. Signed, another satisfied customer.
