In a July 2026 Google review, a customer who booked preventive maintenance for two garage doors said the technician replaced the seals, found worn springs, changed those too and lubricated the doors. The customer praised the technician and office and called the price reasonable. Another reviewer described Dan diagnosing and repairing garage-door springs within an hour and a half, also at a price they considered reasonable. The Chicopee company says it has been in business for 50 years. Its website offers garage-door and opener installation and repair, residential and commercial doors, dock equipment and gate operators. It names Chicopee, Springfield, Agawam, Westfield, Holyoke, Longmeadow, East Longmeadow, Wilbraham and Belchertown as its service area, and advertises 24/7 emergency service. A March 2026 reviewer initially called to buy a vertical track for a do-it-yourself repair, then had Joseph come to the house instead. The customer said he arrived on time with the parts, removed the damaged track, cut the replacement to fit and installed it in less than an hour. Repeated opening and closing afterward went smoothly. In a separate March 2026 review, a customer with a broken spring praised getting an appointment right away and said Joe explained the issue and the proposed repair. Commercial work also appears in a July 2024 review: a customer said Marty arrived within 10 minutes of a call about a failed office garage-door opener and replaced the system. Google shows a 4.9-star average from 85 ratings, and the Better Business Bureau gives Unwin an A+ grade. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active.
Had Unwin Overhead Door come and do preventive maintenance on both of our garage doors. We wanted the rubber seals on the garage door bottoms changed and they found the springs to be worn out also. They changed the springs and seals and lubricated everything. The tech was awesome and the office a pleasure to do business with. Very reasonable price. Will highly recommend.

On 3/6/26 I called Unwin Overhead Door to purchase the left side garage door vertical track for DIY. It happened that Joseph was available to come over to my house to replace the damaged with the new one. He arrived on time with all needed parts, took down the broken one, cut the new one to fit the size, instaled it perfectly in less than an hour. I can't be more than pleased. Joe is extremely professional, courteous, works fast and thoroughly. I love the repaired one, because it looks just like a new one. Joe also asked me to run the garage door open and close many times to make sure that I am totally satisfied. It ran perfectly. Thanks again to Joe and Monica, you solved my problem beautifully!! I'll recommend Unwin to all my family and friends!
