Veitch Appliance Repair is an Old Saybrook shop that describes itself on its website as a family-owned, second-generation business serving coastal Connecticut since 1974. One recent customer said Matt rebuilt their Sub-Zero fridge and freezer, saving at least $15K and making a 19-year-old fridge new again. That customer said Matt has serviced their appliances for over 12 years, including Bosch dishwashers. A 2026 customer said Matt was able to do the repair quickly. A 2024 customer said that if an appliance isn't worth fixing, the company tells you it's time for a new one. In a 2023 review, a customer said Veitch technicians performed an extensive repair to a Sub-Zero refrigerator damaged in shipping, showed up on time and were careful around new kitchen cabinets. A 2023 customer said Doug was very helpful fixing a dryer that had no heat, with a part ordered, though it was pretty expensive; that customer also said the company had no answering machine, so it took a long time to reach someone about changing an appointment. A 2023 customer waited a week for a Bosch dishwasher appointment, had it cancelled that morning because the repairman had a runny nose, and was told they would have to wait almost another week to reschedule. A 2022 customer paid $150 for a visit that diagnosed a broken drain pump in a washing machine, then took it apart and found a small finish nail blocking the pump. A 2023 customer said they waited over a week and paid $150 to be told the repair was probably not worth it.
I’ve had Matt service my appliances for over 12 years. He just rebuilt my sub zero fridge and freezer in the last year. Yah, it sucked to have to do BUT he saved me at least $15K doing it and basically took a perfectly good 19 year old fridge and made it new again. He’s serviced my Bosch dish washers as well with success. Confident. Honest. Solid work. And I am a pain in the ass client. So yah, thank you Matt. Well done.

Have used Veitch many times to repair appliances. Very professional and honest. If it isn't worth fixing they will tell you it's time for a new appliance instead of making a repair that isn't going last.
Fantastic work on our old Sub-Zero fridge. R.J. Veitch is the place I’d call for appliance help.
Waited over a week and was told in 10- 15 minutes repair was probably not worth it. $150 of “not worth it”. They got more $ in 15 minutes than my dentist who actually does something.
