Velvet Green's technicians tend to introduce themselves before they start anything. A customer writing in July said the technician walked the lawn with them and answered every question first. Another wrote in April that it looks better year after year, which they hadn't thought possible. The small things come up as often as the results. A July customer noticed the crew sweeping the walkways and patio before they left. A homeowner who was out during a May aeration came home to find the work had been kept clear of the irrigation system; Pablo worked around a sprinkler problem for another customer that month. In April, Jim spread compost topdressing more evenly than the homeowner had managed by hand and explained how to look after the new seed. Nick's soil test the previous October came with an analysis of the lawn and the shrubs and advice on everyday care. One thing to settle up front: the fertilization is described by the company as organic-based and hybrid, and some customers here signed on specifically to keep harsh chemicals off the property — so ask which programme your lawn is going on and what goes down at each visit.
