Venture Window is a Cranston window, door and siding company whose site says it has been in business 40 years, and its Angi page shows 4.6 stars from 89 ratings. Several customers note that the installers are its own crew: a 2020 Angi reviewer wrote that the carpenters work for Venture and are not outsourced, and a 2017 Houzz reviewer said Venture was the only company of the three interviewed with its own full-time installers. The newest detailed account is an August 2023 Google review of new windows and siding: the project did not start for 8 weeks, just as the company said, was completed in 2 weeks, and the crews cleaned up daily. In a February 2023 Angi review, the buyer of a 1910 home described a crew of 2 completing 15 replacements on the first day and 2 more days, per plan, installing 2 new openings for additional windows. Other jobs on record include storm doors, a fiberglass door and a kitchen window in a 2019 Houzz review, a sliding door and windows in a 2019 Angi review, and 22 windows in a 2016 Houzz review. Customers name Bruce Schulbaum and John Mills in estimate visits. There are complaints, and they are specific. In a June 2023 Angi review, a customer wrote that the lifetime warranty Venture hand-wrote on the invoice was honored once, but on a second cloudy pane they were referred to a vendor and told to pay $70 because it had been 20 years. A 2018 Angi reviewer with a historic home wrote that two sashes and two storms were incorrectly measured, two of three storm doors would not operate, and an ordered opaque bathroom window was no longer offered. In a 2015 Angi review, a customer described windows removed before the installers found the new ones were the wrong size, a mess left in the basement, and the office writing "Signature Guaranteed" on an unsigned check without permission. Its BBB page is an A+ with accreditation, Houzz shows 5.0 stars from 15 ratings, and Rhode Island's registry shows home improvement contractor registration GC-15980 active for Venture Window LLC. The company's site also lists HIC 127926 and CS 107136.
Venture has the best prices & crews in RI.
I could not be happier with my new Venture windows and siding. The project did not start for 8 weeks (just as they told me), but it was completed in just 2 weeks. The crews were great - very considerate and cleaned up daily. The price was less than the others I called and the sales process was very friendly (no high pressure). They even financed 100% of the cost for 10 years, making it very affordable.
Venture Windows just installed my windows. Everyone from the salesman, Bill, to installers were great. I had 3 estimates and Venture came in just above the lowest one (a small carpenter who di some repairs for me last year). Venture offered a lifetime warranty, and since they are a 38 year old business, I felt this was the best route. I really love the black windows. I highly recommend them.
The owner himself sold me my replacement windows. I remember him making a big deal that all windows come with a LIFETIME Warranty. We joked about having small children and the unexpected things that can happen. He reassured me Lifetime means Lifetime. He also hand wrote it on my invoice. That coming from the owner was a large part of why I paid Venture more than their competitors. A few years passed and one of my windows started getting cloudy. I went to Venture and in a week or so I picked up my replacement. Now again I have another cloudy piece of glass. Only this time Venture forwarded me to their vendor who told us we would need to fill out an online form. After approx 4 weeks with no update we contacted them again. They said since its been 20yrs we would need to pay $70 for the replacement. I left a message for Bruce only to be called back by his staff to let me know $70 was more important than honoring their agreement. This is something to consider before hiring.
I am an avowed DIY-er, but I know my limitations ! In our version of "This Old House", our recent purchase of a 1910 home was in desperate need of new windows. The quotation appointment was prompt, on-time, with options offered for different grade of replacements and features. The price seemed fair (not a bargain basement offer, and VERY far from the 'ridiculous' numbers always put out by an un-named famous national chain). The expectations for installation date range were clearly set (as we all know some of the supply chain challenges we are all currently living with). Installation date was arranged, once they had the units from their supplier. Friendly reminder call the day before, crew of 2 showed up exactly on time, and the work was efficiently and professionally executed. 15 replacements completed on 1st day, and 2 more days (per plan) to complete to work for installing 2 brand new openings for 2 additional windows. Only a few days in, so far - but we could NOT be happier. The work was completed with craftsmanship (see below, as a portion of the work was more than just installing replacements).
