A 2023 customer said Village Builders designed, built and finished 2 bedrooms, a rec space and a bathroom in their basement, plus a staircase leading up to the living room. That 2023 customer said the estimate was fair and thorough and the company stuck to it, that Jeff paid close attention to detail, and that George communicated who was coming and what they would be doing each week. On its website the company says it takes on work from a first home on an empty lot to an old farmhouse without any functional bathrooms. A 2023 customer praised the company's work in their kitchen and said they were having it do their bathroom too. A 2022 customer called the workmanship and quality very good and the staff honest and responsive, and said there were some supply delays due to the pandemic. A 2022 customer who hired Village Builders to repour the concrete slab in their basement said a sewer inspector later found the house trap had been covered up. That 2022 customer said the company told them the trap had already been removed, a second sewer inspector confirmed there was still a working house trap, and a few months later the sewer backed up and overflowed a bit into the basement. In that 2022 account, the customer broke through the concrete themselves so a plumber could run an auger through the blockage, and said the company replied that it would figure out a quote for a cover and then never responded.

They did a fantastic job in our kitchen, and we are having them do our bathroom.
Village Builders transformed our dark, icky basement into a beautiful, functional space. They designed, built and finished 2 bedrooms, a rec space and a bathroom. They also created a beautiful staircase leading to the upstairs living room from the basement. The estimate was fair and thorough and they stuck to it. Each part of the crew was skilled and knew what they were doing. Huge shout out to Jeff who paid close attention to detail (put up with my dog and kids) and is an excellent carpenter and to George who did a great job communicating who was coming and what they would be doing each week. We highly recommend Village Builders!
Overall workmanship and quality was very good. All staff were honest and responsive. Did have some supply delays due to the pandemic.
Village Builders was hired to repour the concrete slab in our basement. When we moved in, we were alerted by the sewer inspector that they had covered up the house trap, which would need to be accessed to clear through a blockage should that happen. We initially contacted village builders to see if they could send someone to uncover it, which would only require breaking through about 1-2 square feet of the slab. We were told that they had actually already removed the house trap during the initial job. We then had another sewer inspector come, who confirmed there was still indeed a working house trap. Of course, a few months later, our sewer did get backed up and overflow a bit into the basement. They were pretty snarky when responding to our request to have the trap addressed, asking "Can you explain to me what your goal here is? I am a little confused. I am not sure what benefit would come from opening up the concrete, if there is an obsolete trap below it – can you explain this intention to me?" I ended up having to bust through the concrete myself, and the trap was accessed by the plumber and an auger was run through the blockage. We resent the picture of the trap to Village Builders, requesting a cover be placed over it. They responded that they would figure out a quote, and then never responded. If you want a job done right and accountability for a mistake, do not hire them. Fixing this problem would have only taken ~2 hours, but they were obviously just annoyed at being asked to fix their mistake.
