Walter's Masonry and Waterproofing is a Massachusetts outfit that does two things in tandem — keeps basements dry and repairs the brick and stone around a house, from wet-basement fixes to chimney relining to retaining walls. Its eleven Angi reviews, all from November 2024, describe a run of specific jobs rather than generic praise: sump pumps and French drains installed to stop basement flooding, with customers reporting dry basements through heavy rain afterward; a chimney relined and capped for the exact quoted cost, no surprises; a retaining wall and re-graded walkway built for wheelchair access after another contractor backed out mid-project; and a three-day overhaul of a 74-year-old Dedham home that a reviewer called a huge undertaking, done by a crew that worked late into the evening and left the site clean each night. A few things are worth checking before hiring. Angi's page for the company lists a self-reported Pennsylvania trade license and shows no Massachusetts home improvement or construction-supervisor license anywhere. The page's own contact information — a Boston, MA address — doesn't line up with where the documented jobs actually happened (Worcester, Dedham), so it's worth pinning down which crew and location you'd actually be booking. All eleven reviews on file also happen to be dated the same month, worth keeping in mind alongside the rest. The work described is specific and consistently positive, but given the licensing and location gaps on its own profile, ask directly about Massachusetts licensing, insurance, and where the crew is actually based before signing anything.
had a fantastic experience with Walter's masonry and waterproofing. from booking to end of job, every step was professional and excellent. Welber and his teammate were on time, were very personable, explained the job clearly, completed the job effectively but thoroughly, and took time to show me before and after pictures. highly recommend [Service: Brick, Stone or Block Wall - Repair; Cost stated: $1,600]
I could not be any happier with the job max and Walter's masonry just completed at my home in Worcester. My wife suffered a massive stroke in March and is currently confined to a wheelchair. I needed concrete stairs removed and the existing concrete walkway dug up and re-graded to better accommodate a wheelchair, then re-poured. I also needed a retaining wall built to hold back the newly exposed earth that resulted from the digging/re-grade. I had someone lined up to do this job but they bailed on me at the last minute. Luckily max stepped in and did a masterful job, at a cost I could afford. I would highly recommend these guys in a heartbeat. They really bailed me out because my wife was literally trapped inside our house until those concrete stairs were removed and the new concrete ramp and retaining wall was completed. I was a guy who really needed a break and these guys delivered one. For that I will always be grateful. [Service: Brick, Stone or Block Wall - Repair; Cost stated: $3,200]
Walter's masonry & waterproofing has been great to work with from start to finish. The rep who came on-site to provide a quote was available for all my questions until I made the decision to move forward with Walter's. I had to make adjustments to the install timing and they were very cooperative about that. When it came time for the work the construction to be done in advance was done carefully and minimized any disruptions. The crew performing the work were fantastic and did a great job cleaning up. Welber and the others in the office have been extremely helpful as well! Now I just need some rain to see this in action [Service: Foundation, Basement or Crawlspace Waterproofing / Encapsulation; Cost stated: $4,200]
Welber, and Al are excellent!! We have a rental house that was getting rain water from a stone fountain. Welber knew right away what to do. We were on a budget and timeline getting it done before renters changed. He went above & beyond what he promised for the plan. Welber stayed true and honored the price he gave us. We have had SO MUCH RAIN this summer but NO WATER in the basement anymore!! Thank you Dan for your amazing work [Cost stated: $1,400]
I recently hired Walter's Masonry and Waterproofing for basement waterproofing, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the results. From the moment they arrived, their team was punctual and professional. They thoroughly inspected the basement, identified all the potential problem areas, and explained the best approach to resolve them. After the installation of a sump pump, drainage system, and waterproof coating, my basement has stayed completely dry, even during the heaviest rainfall. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality was clear throughout the entire process. I highly recommend their services for anyone needing basement waterproofing!
