In February 2026, I hired Nick Waters of Waters Woodworking in Exeter, NH, for an extensive renovation of a small Cape in Kittery, Maine. This was a complex project with many moving parts, including vaulting a ceiling, framing and replacing windows, spray foam insulation, new electrical, replacing cedar shakes, demolition and replacement of the front and back decks with Naval decking, new flooring throughout, and a complete kitchen installation. As with any major renovation, there were some hiccups with scheduling along the way. A project of this scope requires the contractor and homeowner to work as a team, communicate openly, and navigate the unexpected challenges that inevitably arise. Throughout the process, I want to commend Nick for his persistence, patience, and perseverance in seeing the project through. Nick is a highly skilled and knowledgeable carpenter, and I appreciated his willingness to tackle the many different aspects of this renovation. Overall, I am very pleased with the finished project and would highly recommend Nick and Thiago for future projects.
I highly recommend Waters Woodworking! Nick was great to work with. He was very responsive and was willing to explain everything to me. He was also very receptive to my ideas. I had a specific vision for what I wanted for our front deck and he was able to bring it to life exactly how I pictured it. Also, his pricing is extremely reasonable and I never felt like he was trying to upsell me on anything. We will definitely be using Nick again when we are ready to redo our back deck!
Nick Waters came to our rescue when he agreed to take on the “man cave” project I had started but abruptly stopped when I injured my back. We are thrilled with the results! Nick and his crew are talented craftsman and came up with creative solutions where needed. They followed my diagrams and the outcome was beyond what I had envisioned! With a basement project, there are pipes, wires and ductwork running everywhere and Nick was great at bringing issues to my attention and discussing options. He is a wealth of knowledge and experience, and it shows in his astute troubleshooting and attention to detail. Communication was great throughout, including supplies deliveries, expected arrival times and delays. I can’t say enough about what a pleasure it was to work with Nick, Thiago and his entire crew. I highly recommend Waters Woodworking and would not hesitate to hire them again.
This was the second project Nick did for us and we are very happy with the results. He was well versed in working in an older home and the finish product is excellent.
Nick built a deck for me recently. I’ve known him for a long time, he's honest and his work is always top notch. Would highly recommend for any of your construction needs
