"Extremely knowledgeable home builders," a July 2025 Google reviewer wrote of Dann and the crew at Whitecap Builders, a Belfast, Maine outfit. The same reviewer said the crew cleaned up when they were done, was polite, respected their privacy, and that they would hire Whitecap again. The company says it has been in business 40 years and lists a service area running from Belmont and Bucksport to Camden, Rockport, Rockland, Searsport and Waldo. Its website offers free estimates and says it is insured. In February 2025 a reviewer said Whitecap had plowed their business's parking lot and shoveled its walks for five winters, and called the company reliable. A 2022 commenter on r/maine, who said a friend owns the business, called it an honest outfit and very busy. In a January 2023 Google review, a customer said they called a few times for an estimate, left a message each time and never got a call back. A September 2022 reviewer called Whitecap the worst building company they had dealt with, "mean and unhelpful." Google shows 3.9 stars from 7 ratings.
“A friend of mine owns Whitecap Builders, I know they're also very busy but they're an honest outfit”
Dann and the crew at Whitecap are the best. Extremely knowledgeable home builders and very helpful. The crew cleaned up when they were done, were polite, and respected our privacy. Will definitely hire again.
Whitecap has plowed our parking lot and shoveled our walks at my place of business for five winters. They are totally reliable and professional and I especially appreciate knowing that they are keeping my tenants and visitors safe when the weather turns bad.
I inspected their heat pumps and I am giving 5 stars to counter the ridiculous 1 star reviews. Seems like an extremely professional company.
The young lady at White went out her to help me find someone who could help a friend remove snow from her driveway this past Wednesday. I would recommend them for anything in the construction business, she was so helpful. Thanks again for you help
I've called them a few times for an estimate for a job. Left message each time. Not even a call back to say weather they could or couldn't do so. Not sure if this business exists. So no stars for me.
