This looks like a call-now plumbing shop. Google shows 4.8 stars from 178 ratings, and the review history is not just a recent burst; it goes back to 2021 across multiple sources. In recent Philadelphia reviews, the same name keeps surfacing — Troy — when a water heater fails, a drain backs up, or water starts showing up where it should not. Recent customers describe the jobs that make people pick up the phone fast: a kitchen-ceiling leak, a backed-up toilet and tub, a tankless water heater throwing an error code on a Friday, a gas leak after utility shutoff, a clogged sink another plumber wanted to attack with a jackhammer, and a fridge water-line leak that needed tracing. The recurring thread is response time. Several 2026 reviewers say they got a call back within minutes, an arrival the same day or within the hour, or a text update when Troy could not reach them by phone. The work itself reads broader than basic faucet fixes but still squarely plumbing. In the last six months, homeowners mention gas water-heater replacements, hot-water-heater maintenance, shutoff valve and faucet repairs, sink and faucet installs, water-softener and conditioner guidance, drain cleaning, septic pumping, and gas-line work. Recent reviewers also include a 3-family property owner and a business customer, so this is not limited to one kind of property. The bigger theme is diagnosis. More than one recent customer says Troy either caught what another plumber missed or offered a simpler answer than the one they had already been sold — helping one household use warranty value toward a larger replacement water heater, and telling another that a supposed foundation leak was not a foundation issue at all. Several also mention that he explains options and charges plainly, including the minimum service charge on smaller jobs. The main thing to pin down before booking is the front end of the call. One recent 1-star Google review says the phone system put the caller on hold and disconnected them, which does not match the many recent reviews describing smooth scheduling and quick replies. Ask how the service-call charge applies to your visit, and confirm whether your problem is straight plumbing or one of the heating calls they handle. If your problem is urgent, messy, or already half-misdiagnosed, William & Sons Plumbing looks strongest as the plumber to call first. Before they head out, confirm the scheduling method, the service-call fee, and the scope of the job.

we've used this plumbing team for a few years, and every service call has been top notch. they are very professional, reliable, and the finished work has always been solid with no problems. During our kitchen remodel in Philadelphia, troy disconnected the kitchen sink plumbing, including the dishwasher and garbage disposal, and got the water lines and drain pipes ready for the new sink and faucet install. He later came back to reconnect everything and make sure it all worked properly. we've honestly never seen a cleaner install. The plumbing under the sink cabinet looks neat, organized, and well planned, with great pipe alignment and clean connections. it made the whole kitchen setup look better and function smoothly. this is our go to plumber for kitchen plumbing, drain work, fixture installs, and any other plumbing needs. highly recommend them for dependable service and quality workmanship.

As the owner of a 3-family home, I needed a reliable licensed plumber for a few jobs. I was fortunate to find Troy for plumbing and heating service. The first job was capping a stove gas line. It started as a basic service call, and Troy clearly explained the minimum service charge, which was very fair. When I mentioned that the line was connected directly to the gas meter with no shutoff valve, he explained that the work would be a little more involved and only added a small extra charge. That showed me right away that he was honest and not the kind of plumber who would overcharge. During that visit, Troy also noticed that the boiler and heating system were in rough shape and suggested that an upgrade should be considered. He was absolutely right, since I had already been dealing with heating issues in the house. He later provided a detailed estimate that listed the plumbing and heating parts to be replaced, along with the labor cost, so everything was clear from the start. The work was completed on time, and I was very pleased with the results. Later on, I found that my water heater had started leaking, so I needed a replacement quickly. Troy responded right away, quoted a new 75-gallon unit, and set up the installation promptly. When the original model was not available, he brought a different higher-priced heater and installed it for the same quoted price. I really appreciated that level of service. I am extremely happy with the professional plumbing and heating work Troy provided. He is dependable, honest, clear about costs, and does quality work. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs plumbing, gas line, water heater, or heating system service.

Great plumbing service—fast, responsive, careful, and professional. I called about replacing a gas water heater, and Troy got back to me quickly. He even sent a text when he could not reach me by phone, which I really appreciated. He was prompt, easy to work with, and clearly focused on good customer service. The price was very fair, and he also helped by providing the details needed for my home warranty claim so everything could be submitted correctly. The water heater replacement was handled efficiently, and the whole process felt smooth from start to finish. After the job was done, Troy still took time to answer my questions and shared helpful maintenance tips about the plumbing system and water heater. It is clear he cares about doing quality work and making sure customers understand their plumbing needs. Highly recommended for anyone in Philadelphia who needs reliable water heater or plumbing service.

Troy replied to my text within minutes and set up an appointment for later that week with William & Sons Plumbing. He arrived right on time, quickly found the problem with our stuck cold water handle, the bathroom drain stopper, and the shutoff valves under the kitchen sink, and fixed everything efficiently. He was friendly, professional, and easy to talk to, and he explained the plumbing repairs in simple terms. The repair price felt fair and reasonable for the work completed. We were very happy with the service and will call again for any future plumbing needs, including faucet repairs, drain issues, or valve work, and would gladly recommend Troy to friends and family.

Our neighbor had them come out for a septic tank pumping, and while the crew was there, my husband and I asked Troy if he could also check and pump our septic system. He took a quick look, explained that he might need to empty the truck first because it was already near full, and then came right back to take care of our tank the same day. Troy and his crew did an excellent job. They were professional, efficient, and made the whole septic service process easy from start to finish. We really appreciated that they were able to fit us in without a scheduled appointment, especially when we needed prompt help. The pricing was fair, the work was done right away, and the service felt honest and dependable. They are definitely our go-to team for septic pumping and related plumbing service, and we would gladly recommend them to anyone in Philadelphia.
