Williams Custom Construction Services is a Georgetown, Massachusetts general contractor whose Houzz listing presents the business as a general contracting and remodeling firm operating on the North Shore out of Wenham, with project photo sets and a Houzz badge on its profile. The people who have hired them are uniformly happy. The company carries a 5-star average across 8 Google ratings, and the written accounts on file — four of them, spread across four sources between 2021 and 2025 — describe finished remodeling work the homeowners were satisfied with and a crew they found professional to have in the house. Reviewers name the men who run the job rather than an office, which is the usual shape of a small owner-run outfit. Two things are worth settling before you sign anything. The Massachusetts state registry shows a Home Improvement Contractor registration under this name, number 102227, in expired status — HIC registration is what gives a homeowner access to the state's Guaranty Fund on a residential job, so ask whether it has since been renewed and get the current number in writing. Separately, the company's Houzz profile lists a HIC number of 191661 and a construction supervisor licence CS-112842; those are the company's own listed figures and do not line up with the registration the registry returns, so treat them as claims to verify rather than as confirmed credentials. The other honest caveat is volume. Four written reviews is a small base to judge a builder on, and the newest of them is from 2025, so there is not much recent, detailed public record of how a current job runs. They look like a reasonable call for a homeowner wanting an owner-involved remodeling contractor on the North Shore who is willing to do their own diligence — pull the current registry record on the HIC and supervisor licence, ask for proof of insurance, and ask for two or three recent local references you can call.

Williams Construction Services did a large project for us: finishing an attic space, a full bathroom remodel, replacement of cabinetry in another bathroom, and adding a mudroom space. Ed gave us a thoughtful quotation, outlining all the work that was included. He organized all the trades, all the inspections, and completed a complex job in a reasonable amount of time without being intrusive. His team were all polite and cleaned up every day. His recommended solutions were excellent. Ben is meticulous and did excellent work with the carpentry and the cabinet installations. Everything came out great. Libby is a fantastic manager, and was very responsive. As the work progressed, there were inevitable changes, and she was very professional in handling change orders. We are so pleased with the work they did, it is of the highest quality. We highly recommend Williams construction.

We have used Williams Construction Services for three major projects and have a fourth scheduled this summer, ranging from replacing a large, half moon window in our breakfast room to a full main bath remodeling. Ed and Ben Williams are both professional and friendly, and have a solid team of subcontractors they have worked with for years. They communicate with us at each step of the project and are a pleasure to work with. Their work is high quality and we are very satisfied with every project we have done with them.

Our basement flooded recently and we had to tear down paneling and some of the wall. Williams Construction was prompt, efficient, and professional. They were able to refinish the paneling and repaint the walls all in one weekend. I was very impressed by their work and will be using them again.
