Wilson Construction & Landscaping is a business that we initially picked after witnessing their repair of a seawall in a nearby brewery in South Thomaston Maine where they rebuilt a seawall damaged by the significant storms of 10 & 13 Jan and recurred again on 10 Mar 2024. The method they use is creating a base row of significant sizes of granite stones by digging down a foot below the beach and slanting these base stones back toward the surrounding land or starting on existing ledges a similar granite pieces of significant size held in place by drilling down into these 6-8” and placing stainless steel 1” in diameter rods covered with a white plastic end cap. Then the ground is dug out between the base stones and the existing land over which is place black plastic layer of Geotex which allows seawater splashed over the wall to return to the sea with taking soil with it. Then the void between the facade of granite pieces is filled with a skirt of granite rocks 6-8” in diameter. Then another layer of very large granite is added to the base stones and a wall is slowly built up to the level of the existing land creating a wonderful facade of eye catching slanting granite. This company uses a large excavator masterful run by a 62 yo (Scott Wilson) the father of the owner of this company accompanied by a very hard working woman with a civil engineering background Vanessa who is capable of doing many physical onsite things like running a small excavator! The result is a very, very time efficient group highly coordinated in building a significant substantial sturdy eye pleasing seawall. This company also did a superb job of installing a large 2000 gallon septic holding tank at the same time finally finishing with gorgeous dark high quality dirt and planting grass seeding covered by hay on any disturbed land by this construction work. Notably the office manager, Vanessa Thomann, was cordial available as was the owner of Wilson Construction to answer questions. This is a well run high quality talented company.

Wilson Construction arrived as scheduled and completed the bulkhead rebuild with craftsmanship and care to the property. The project was done as quoted, on budget and completed within the time schedule without interruption including a proper cleanup after.
