Driveway paving brings customers back to Young's Excavating & Paving, sometimes across decades. A Google reviewer writing in August 2025 said Bill Young's father had installed a driveway roughly 40 years earlier that remained in good shape, and described hiring the company again to replace another driveway. Young's is based in Penacook and says its family has paved and excavated since 1947 across four generations. Its website describes residential and commercial work across southern and central New Hampshire, including driveways, parking lots, roads, sealcoating and excavation. Recent customers describe attention to the finished surface. An Allenstown homeowner says the crew paved their driveway on June 3, 2026, taking care to compact and smooth it. A July reviewer describes watching a dirt driveway become a paved one. Another July customer says the crew showed up as promised for a backyard patio, cleaned up and held to the quote. An August reviewer reports completing their paving work in one day. Google shows 4.4 stars from 50 ratings; BBB gives the business an A+. Some older accounts describe work beyond laying asphalt. In a July 2025 review, a customer said a driveway sinkhole required excavation before they chose to have the entire driveway skim coated. A November 2022 customer described yard excavation, regrading, paving, a new walkway, topsoil and hydroseeding completed in less than a week. Reddit commenters posting in April 2023 also recommended Young's: one described being happy with a Dunbarton job from 2018, while another said a Pembroke job cost less than two other quotes. There are substantial complaints too. A May 2025 Google reviewer said an anticipated early-April installation slipped into May, communication was poor, and paving remained unfinished after driveway preparation despite promised completion dates. A July 2024 reviewer said a $5,000 driveway job washed out and alleged the owner offered another paid repair; an update referring to spring 2025 said nothing remained of the driveway. A May 2023 reviewer described peeling striping at a Merrimack project and said return attempts did not supply the thermoplastic striping originally purchased or correctly sized lettering. An August 2025 reviewer praised the paving but criticized the landscaping. Separately, an April 2023 Reddit commenter described an unsatisfactory response when asking about the warranty.
