Zacarias Tree & Landscaping has been working out of 80 Mayfair Street in Lynn since 2002 — the company describes itself as a family-run crew that grew into a full tree, landscaping, and hardscaping operation over 24 years. BBB records list Rony Zacarias as president of what's now a three-person shop, accredited with the bureau since 2017 and carrying an A+ rating; the company's own site adds ISA-certified arborists and TCIA-accredited crews to its credentials. Nearly all of what customers describe is tree work — a tree down overnight, a hazard limb over a driveway, a stump ground out — and this spring's reviews keep hitting the same notes: quick to respond, careful with the cut, and clean when they leave. That holds up at scale too: 4.7 stars from 55 Google ratings and 4.8 from 51 on Angi, backed by a review history stretching back to 2019. The company also markets landscape design, lawn installation, and hardscaping like patios and retaining walls as regular parts of the business, and Angi's review base is described as spanning that hardscape and lawn work too — though the individual reviews visible here skew heavily toward the tree side. One thing worth asking about directly: a review from this spring described 17 newly planted trees that looked good at first, then declined and browned out within a year. Separately, Angi's page references an older, unresolved complaint about a large landscaping project that didn't go well. Angi also notes the company doesn't offer emergency service or workmanship warranties, so get any planting-establishment guarantee and a firm completion date in writing before paying a large deposit. For tree removal, trimming, or storm cleanup, the track record here is deep and consistent across two major platforms. For a bigger landscape build, ask to see finished work comparable to what you're planning and pin down the guarantee — that's the part of the business with thinner review coverage.

They came in quickly when I had a couple of trees fall unexpectedly. The price was right, the team was efficient, on time and cleaned up everything nicely. Very satisfied. I’m going to have them back to take down some additional trees.

We hired Zacarias Tree Company to install 17 trees at a cost of over $10,000. Initially the trees looked great, and we were very pleased with how the project appeared after installation. Unfortunately, within the following year, the trees began to decline significantly. By fall 2025, several were turning brown. The owner, came out to look at them and said they would be fine, pointing to areas he described as “budding.” He later sent someone to cut off many of the brown branches and sections. Despite that, the trees continued to deteriorate. Several are now completely brown and appear dead, while the others have green only at the very top. The lower portions are bare, shedding, and look terrible. The before-and-after photos show a dramatic decline from how the trees looked shortly after installation. For over $10,000, this is extremely disappointing. I hired this company expecting expertise, proper recommendations, and follow-up if there was a serious issue. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Zacarias Tree Company for tree installation unless they provide written assurance of backing up their work. At this point, we are still hoping they will stand behind their work and make this right, but the current condition of the trees is unacceptable.

We've worked with Rony twice to remove trees on our property. His team is incredibly hard working and professional.

They did an excellent job. They took a large tree down quickly and safely and cleaned up very well. The price was very reasonable.

Had them come in twice now, professional, capable; cheaper than I was afraid of. Recommended!
