Lidor Dor runs 5 Star Garage Door, a one-person garage door business based in Winchester, Massachusetts, and in review after review from 2026 he's the guy who shows up fast and fixes only what actually needs fixing. In a 2026 review, a customer said two other companies wanted to replace an entire garage door opener over one broken chain piece, but Lidor fixed it at a reasonable price and caught a cable that was close to failing along the way. In another 2026 review, someone who'd bought and assembled the wrong opener said Lidor arrived within 20 minutes of texting and worked out a way to complete the install anyway. Other 2026 reviews describe new doors and motors installed cleanly enough to seal out insects and rodents, and a repair job where he left the garage spotless and hauled away the old parts himself. His Massachusetts home improvement contractor license is verified active on the state registry, and Thumbtack — where he's a two-time Top Pro (2024 and 2025) with a passed background check — shows 219 reviews, every one of them five stars. For a garage door repair, replacement, or new opener anywhere from Winchester to Cambridge or Andover, this is a straightforward, well-reviewed call to make.
I got a small piece broken on the chain. Two guys came and didn’t want to do the job unless I replace the entire opener. Only Lidor helped at a reasonable price. He also identified a cable that almost broke and helped to fix it
Highly recommend this service! Tay provided competitive quotes and did an excellent job with our garage door repair and maintenance. He was very friendly throughout the process, left the garage spotless, and even took care of disposing of the old parts. Great experience overall!
Lidor at 5 Star Garage Door was kind and thorough throughout the process. We got a few quotes and his was the lowest, he also gave us the most information, and promised (and kept to) a fast timeline for the installation. I will recommend him to anyone I know who needs a new garage door.
Lidor and his team did an amazing job replacing our old garage doors and new motors. This team is very professional and responsive. He provided great honest feedback. Our doors are now sealed which will help prevent insects and rodents from coming inside. After the project was completed, they cleaned up. I would 100% recommend him and use them for future work! They did an amazing job and we love our new doors! Thank you Lidor again for great quality work! We appreciate it greatly.
I assembled an opener and realized it doesn’t fit my previous install. So I had to find someone to do the heavy lifting. Found 5 star garage door and after some texts in which Lidor explained ways he can fix my issue. He came within 20 min, and not only did he complete the install, he also looked over each component on the system and replaced multiple items that were nearing end of life. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, more so than any other garage pro I talked to. He explained how each component worked. He set everything up, tested multiple times and cleaned up everything. The price was also better than anyone else I contacted. I was so impressed with his work, that I’ll be contacting him again to fix my other garage door. His knowledge and craftsmanship definitely matches the name of his company.
