A recent customer whose system had been installed for the previous owner said the owner arrived about 45 minutes late for a 1:00 p.m. appointment without calling, after calls to the company got no answer. That customer said that when they raised the delay, the owner replied, "Do you want my help or not?" and they asked him to leave.
“I used A&R Environmental in Andover. I recommend them.”
We’re very happy with our experience! Booking was easy, the customer service was excellent, and the work was clean and professionally done. Most importantly, our radon levels are now back to a safe range. We would definitely recommend them!
I would not recommend this company based on our experience with the owner, whom I found extremely rude and unprofessional. The radon mitigation system in our home was installed for the previous owner. Nothing on the system appeared to indicate a problem: the indicator columns were at zero, and the vacuum pressure had not changed substantially. However, during a home inspection, the radon level tested high. We called the company for service and explained the situation. We were told we likely needed a larger fan. We specifically raised concerns that the system's indicator was not accurately showing that there was a problem, but that concern did not seem to receive any attention. We scheduled an appointment for 1:00 p.m. At 1:20, when no one had arrived or contacted us, I called the company and received no answer. My husband called again around 1:45 and also received no answer, so he left a message. The owner arrived around 1:45, approximately 45 minutes late, without having called to let us know. He was on the phone when I opened the door. He asked me several questions about the inspection that I wasn't able to answer because I wasn't present for it and hadn't been given the specific information he was requesting. I then asked if our appointment had been scheduled for 1:00. He replied, "I'm running a few minutes late." I explained that 45 minutes was more than a few minutes and that I would have appreciated some communication that he was running late. His response was: "Do you want my help or not?" At that point, I told him no thank you and asked him to leave. As he left, he responded sarcastically, "Good luck!" We were trying to address a legitimate radon concern in our home and had already attempted multiple times to communicate with the company that afternoon. A simple phone call to say he was running late would have been completely understandable. Instead, when I politely raised the issue, I was met with hostility. Based on the lack of communication and the owner's behavior when he arrived, I would not recommend this company.
Very responsive. Diagnosed the problem I was having and fixed it within 15 minutes. I feel like I found a very trustworthy team to help should I need any further services related to my Radon mitigation system.
Excellent company, responsive and always fixes issues in a timely manner. Highly recommend!!!
As a new homeowner, I was discouraged when my home inspection came back indicating a high radon level in the house. I needed to mitigate, but there are so many radon mitigation companies out there that it was confusing. I decided to go with A and R since my realtor had recommended them. I am so glad that I did and must tell you that they are the best of the best. I spoke with Josh on the phone, and he was incredibly professional, informative and helpful as to how these systems work and what to expect. Then, on the day of my appointment, Jordan and Janiero arrived early, assessed the layout of my house and determined the best, most unobtrusive place to install the system. They proceeded to get to work and did an awesome job. They left no mess, were finished in short order, and the system looks great. I cannot recommend the team at A and R environmental highly enough.
