A to Z Home Improvements is Anthony Zona's Worcester outfit for the jobs that pile up on a homeowner's list — power washing, gutter cleaning, junk hauling, small carpentry, the occasional kitchen. On HomeAdvisor the company describes itself as veteran- and family-owned with 23 years of experience, and the family part shows up in the reviews: when a January 2022 customer needed three large wall units moved, Zona arrived with his brother within three hours. The written record runs 2021 to 2023 — 19 reviews across two sites, with a 4.5-star average from 13 ratings on HomeAdvisor. The jobs described there range wider than most handyman pages: a 2022 customer hired him to restore two aging wooden fire escapes in Worcester to fire-department inspection criteria, another had him renovate a Shrewsbury kitchen, and a 2023 reviewer who called about roof moss ended up adding junk removal and a bulkhead replacement. Pricing comes up more than once — "honest and fair price" in one 2022 review, "great value" across multiple small projects in another, and a 2023 customer called the work on time and on budget. Two things are worth weighing before calling. A January 2022 customer left the lone bad review: an hourly-rate job was agreed, then two weeks of no-shows and unreturned calls. And the paperwork is muddled — BBB's page describes a non-accredited sole proprietorship in Owings, Maryland with a Maryland home-improvement (MHIC) licence and 15 years in business, which doesn't match the Worcester operation every review describes, so confirm you've reached the right company before hiring. For punch-list work, exterior cleaning, and hauling, the 2021–2023 reviews describe a responsive two-man operation that customers said they'd hire again. Nothing has been written since 2023, so ask what the crew and schedule look like now — and given that one no-show account, pin down the start date before work begins.
A great overall experience. This company is a must use, On time and on budget and work was wonderful
Was looking to have moss removed from roof, ended up hiring Anthony for a couple more other things like junk removal and bulkhead replacement and repair. We have him in mind for upcoming projects.
They were Professional, conscientious, and wanted to please the customer.
I hired Mr. Zona to restore 2 aging wooden fires escapes in Worcester to meet Fire Dept inspection criteria. Both structures were complex, needing numerous upgrades to meet code. Their age also presented many carpentry challenges which he solved with integrity and plain old hard work to not only get us a "Pass" on inspections but significantly increase the useful life of my fire escapes. Mr. Zona exceeded my expectations with quality work and high integrity and he has my strongest recommendation.
Mr Zona responded to my quote request for power washing. He did an excellent job and went above to fill some minor holes around my electrical connections. Very professional and would use him again for services as needed.
