Older houses with surprises behind the walls are a familiar job for Fix It Once Renovations, and the person customers deal with is Nick. The Lexington remodeling contractor is run by Nick Ganiatsos and lists Lexington, Concord and Winchester as its service area. The state registry shows Nick Ganiatsos's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration as active. Google shows 5 stars from 30 ratings. This year's customers describe a mix of repair and remodeling: a custom-made eave plus new fence panels done in a day (August 2026), a repaired and repainted deck and a replaced exterior door and frame (July 2026), two updated bathrooms finished on budget (May 2026), and a very old set of basement stairs replaced (March 2026). A May 2026 reviewer said Nick answered emails and texts promptly, arrived when promised and explained the options for a damaged window sill, trim and shed. The bigger projects go back further. In a March 2023 review, a customer who had planned to replace kitchen windows after a skylight leak said demolition exposed rotted sills, makeshift framing and a shifting foundation, and said Nick reworked the estimate as daily labor plus materials and provided detailed receipts, daily written notes and photo updates. A December 2021 customer described repairs to rotted structural wood around a porch and house, including excavating to reach it, and said Nick oversaw the patio contractors to fix the pitch that had been letting water in. In a May 2024 review, a family said a finished basement with a full bathroom, office and play area took about four months at a reasonable cost, with Nick working around a low ceiling and awkward pipes. Customers describe him as upfront on cost: a January 2024 reviewer whose pipe burst said he was clear about costs and timelines as the scope grew, and another March 2023 customer said he kept a dated account of the work and payments.
Nick (and his crew) were really amazing. Nick knows his stuff and does what he says he will do. Really quality work, diligent, on time and on task. He is also a very good communicator g(hard to find these days unfortunately). Have nothing but great things to say about Nick and the team members he uses to get the work done - on task, on time and above board. Plus - he’s a good person who is honest and can not recommend enough.
Nick and his crew did a nice job installing a custom-made eave at the front of our home. We added on two projects and unexpectedly ended up with new fence panels. All done in a day and the workmanship is very nice. Nick delivers exactly what he says he will.
Nick and Dimitri repaired and repainted my deck, replaced an exterior door and frame, and painted. All work was very well done. Unexpected problems that were found, were handled with expertise and best practice. I highly recommend Nick and will definitely hire him for future work.
Nick recently fixed a damaged window sill, house trim, and a shed for us. From the beginning it was clear that we could count on him - from prompt email/text responses to arriving when promised and explaining issues in detail so we could understand how they could be addressed and what our options might be. The work came out great and we will absolutely be working with him again in the future.
Nick updated two bathrooms and did some minor work in our kitchen. His work is excellent! Nick's communication, scheduling and work ethic are top notch. The job was done in a timely manner and on budget. We are so happy with the results!
