That is the kind of call A Valley AC and Heat's best reviews describe — the Hanson company replaces gas heating systems and, on its Angi listing, installs and services central A/C and ductless systems, with free estimates. Another March 2026 customer said their gas heating system was replaced on time by someone who knew the equipment, after three other companies had come and gone without working out the problem, and that the price never moved off the original quote. A September 2023 reviewer described affordable prices and polite workers and said the owner is easy to talk to. Two reviewers on the company's Better Business Bureau page recommend it. The complaints are about installations, and they are specific enough to ask about. A February 2026 reviewer gave one star and wrote that an HVAC install went very wrong: no heat, no response from Alex, and a unit put in without a propane conversion kit. In December 2022, another one-star reviewer wrote that Alex Valley had been contracted to install an HVAC system and verify it was operating properly, and that he reported testing everything; because the work was done in warm weather, that customer had not run the system at the time. The Better Business Bureau lists the company as not accredited with a C grade and two complaints on file, and its Google average is 3.8 from 10 ratings. For a furnace that has quit or a heating replacement you need done this week, the 2026 accounts describe fast work at the quoted price. For a full system installation — especially anything involving a propane conversion — put the equipment, the conversion parts and the start-up testing in the written contract, ask for the test results at handover, and settle in advance how a callback gets scheduled. Confirm licensing and insurance before the work starts.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ When I initially called A Valley AC & Heat, we had been experiencing heating issues since moving into our rented home (it will be one year this April 1st). While our landlord had fixed a few things along the way, we discovered the HVAC system itself was at its max lifespan—about 20 years old, originally installed in 2006. To be honest, we had been freezing in this house, and then the heating system stopped functioning altogether. The heating coil had burned out, and the system was completely on its last legs. More importantly, this became a dangerous situation, as we were told the system was slowly leaking carbon monoxide. It would shut off, but if we forced it to run, the risk increased. That was not something we were willing to take lightly. I immediately called our landlord, explained everything, and he had Alex come out to install a brand-new system. It works wonderfully! We did have a small hiccup over the past couple of weeks where the thermostat wouldn’t maintain the set temperature and kept dropping. Alex has been incredibly kind, honest, and transparent throughout the entire process. He doesn’t sugarcoat anything—which I truly appreciate—and he’s been upfront from the very beginning about what’s going on. It turns out the issue wasn’t the thermostat at all. We hadn’t checked the dormers on the old unit, and the real problem was damaged dormers that weren’t allowing proper airflow. Because of that, the system couldn’t keep up with what the thermostat was calling for. Thankfully, we only needed one new dormer instead of two. Alex came back out today, installed the new dormer (again covered by our landlord), and now we have a fully functioning HVAC system. And let me just say—this winter has been no joke! Between multiple snowstorms, including two blizzards, it has been freezing. Alex truly saved the day for our family. My husband and I feel like we’ve made a new friend here in New Bedford. Alex and his team are fantastic—excellent customer service, incredibly responsive (he always calls back the same day, often within minutes), and his follow-up and follow-through have been outstanding every single time. Alex has over 15 years of experience and grew up with his dad running an HVAC company for over 44 years. He’s been around this industry for most of his life and has been in business for half of it—which is pretty impressive! Highly recommend. Alex is your HVAC guy!
What can I say, on time very professional he replaced our gas heating system very knowledgeable , after we had hired three different companies and nobody knew what they were doing and the price never changed from the original quote.thank you so much we definitely will be using your services again.
I had no heat on one of the coldest days in January, Alex came out the same day, I had many issues with the furnace that was only a year old, Alex was honest about the damage showing me what was wrong. I opted for a new one that he installed 2 days later he had the furnace up and working until then. Due to the water damage in the furnace that had to be replaced as well. Alex went out of his way to install both units as well as documentation for me regarding the issues with both units. I would highly recommend A Valley for their quick response to the calls as well as the great work that was done!
