Absolute Landscaping presents itself as a Canton, Massachusetts company serving residential, commercial and property management customers across the South Shore. Its website describes year-round landscape maintenance, landscape construction, hardscape work and snow and ice response, while Houzz says the company has operated for more than 15 years and lists certifications including ICPI, Techo-Pro, SIMA and pesticide application. The available customer record is small and mixed. Google shows 2.6 stars from 10 ratings. A September 2025 Google reviewer said several plants died soon after a landscaping job and reported receiving no response after repeated contacts. A January 2025 reviewer said the company killed their lawn, but gave no project detail. The only detailed positive account is older: in July 2014, a Houzz reviewer described a backyard demolition, patio with firepit, loam and grass installation completed in a quoted week, with plans to hire the company again. Before booking, ask for recent references for the exact service, a written maintenance or snow scope, plant and lawn replacement terms, and a clear response process for problems. The website claims full insurance and 24/7 snow response, so request current certificates and confirm what emergency coverage includes. A Reddit post alleges that the company is owned by a Canton police sergeant; treat that as an unverified public claim and ask the business to clarify ownership if it matters to your decision. Absolute may fit customers seeking a broad landscape and winter-services contract, but the recent written complaints and low Google rating warrant careful reference checks and contract detail. The Houzz praise is specific but dated to 2014, so confirm current crew, standards and supervision before work begins.
“Absolute Landscaping owned by Canton police sergeant Brendan Healy”
Used Absolute for a good-sized landscaping job with lots of plants and a few trees. I like to support small and local businesses. When at least 3 plants died almost immediately, I contacted Absolute for advice on whether there was anything that could be done. A question. No response. I contacted them again, no response, again. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. No customer service, no response, NO GOOD. There are so many landscapers out there, I will use another company for the next project.
Killed my lawn. Horrible. Never again. I was better off hiring my 10 year old grandson.
ARE we pulling people over to target them?
We had removed a pool from our backyard last year (ourselves), and this year we hired Absolute Landscaping to rip up our entire backyard (asphalt and old grass/fill), they built a patio w/ firepit, laid out loam and planted grass. They finished the work in 1 week (as quoted), everything came out great! We plan on having them come back next year to do some work on the front yard, and possibly plant a few trees.
