Acadia Craftsman

My wife and I love Sam George of Acadia Craftsman - and would recommend him to anyone who needs a bathroom or kitchen renovation without hesitation! We feel incredibly lucky to have found Sam and have him work at our house over the past several years. His work has been beautiful! He completely remodeled two of our primary bathrooms with extensive tile work and installed brand new construction windows throughout our house (along with interior and exterior trim). Not only is he skilled at carpentry and tile work, etc., but he is creative and has a great eye for design. Sam is very fair and trustworthy and one of his best qualities is that he is a very good communicator. He was always willing to take the time to discuss details of our projects and find the best solutions for our home. He really is an unusual find in the Downeast Maine area. We hope to have Sam do more projects for us in the future!

Sam extensively reconstructed the second floor of our cottage, including installation of a washer/dryer, adding a small study, and reconfiguring the bedroom areas. The project involved moving walls and doors and installing plumbing for the washer/drier. We had intended to add a second bathroom, but had to give this up because the plumbing company consistently failed to meet schedules and deadlines. Sam patiently managed the resulting inconvenience. His workmanship is excellent, his attention to cleanliness is remarkable, and his prices are fair. I would recommend him without reservation.

My husband and I would highly recommend Sam for your bathroom (or ANY household) renovation project. He is very experienced, knowledgeable and professional, as well as very personable and easy to work with. We had been working with another contractor to renovate our shower and bathroom, and he had recommended Sam for the tiling work. I could see that he did quality work from looking at the photo gallery on his Acadia Craftsman web site, but we were even more impressed in our first meeting with him in our home. He looked at the shower and immediately envisioned a way to enlarge it in a way that we hadn’t thought of, and suggested continuing the bathroom’s black & white floor tiles onto the shower floor, which gives great continuity to the room. Working with our vision for the shower, he found just the right tiles and materials, and we couldn't be happier with the finished look. The quality of Sam’s work is excellent and though his primary job for us was tiling, he could easily have done the entire renovation. We would not hesitate to call on him again for other projects.

We recommend Sam HIGHLY, without reservation!! He completed a bathroom renovation that exceeded our expectations. It was everything we dreamt of and then things we didn't even know we would love. We are so happy with the final result. He is attentive, detail oriented, an incredibly skilled craftsman and a pleasure to work with. He listened and offered lovely design ideas in a very nice way. Further, he gently steered us away from some of our not so great ideas. We trust him to do any project, big or small. You should run, not walk, to try and line him up for your project.🤩

Sam George did an incredible job with my kitchen renovation at my summer home in Maine. He not only is an excellent craftsman but is also very thorough and reliable. That combination is hard to find in a contractor! I had a tight timeline in which to finish the project, and he worked long hours to get the job completed on time. I would definitely use Sam again and highly recommend him for any home remodeling project!
