Advanced Electrical LLC is a one-crew Hingham electrician built around Dennis Stefani, a master electrician the company says has 25 years of experience and has run the business itself for 15 years. The reviews here don't just recommend him — the same specific job keeps showing up: an old New England house (1870s, 1920s, 1960s) getting a panel upgrade and its dangerous old wiring pulled out. Every one of the 44 reviews on file, dating back to 2021, is five stars, and the state registry lists his electrician license as active. Panel upgrades come up again and again — 60 amp to 200 amp, a 400 amp service, a full knob-and-tube rip-out on a 1928 house — usually alongside kitchen and bathroom rewiring, recessed lighting, and the odd Tesla charger. Two storm-related calls stand out: in an October 2022 review, he showed up within the hour after a fallen tree limb knocked out a home's main service line, and in an October 2021 review he restored power the same day after a storm pulled a main panel off a house. Several reviewers found him through a neighbor or a general contractor's referral rather than an ad — a detail that recurs enough to be worth noting. Because most of these are older homes, a straightforward-sounding job tends to grow once the wiring underneath is actually opened up — several reviewers describe brittle knob-and-tube or 1950s-era wiring turning a planned upgrade into a bigger rewire, which he flagged and fixed rather than skipped. Nothing in the record raises a pricing or scheduling complaint; several reviewers specifically call the rates fair. For panel upgrades, EV chargers, or untangling an old house's wiring, this is a well-documented, licensed choice with a long, consistent track record — worth calling early if the job needs code work done before an inspection or a heat pump install.
I hired Dennis to sort out some issues with the complicated wiring in our house with 2 panels, he came by quickly and resolved majority of the issues pretty quickly! We're going to have him rewire the entire house upstairs which has brittle old BX wiring and is a safety hazard, but that's going to be a longer term project - we trust him entirely, hes very knowledgeable and is able to explain everything that needs to happen.
Dennis is awesome. He is so knowledgeable and great at explaining what needs to be done and why.
Dennis is professional, responsive and takes pride in his work. Whether it's a schedule prject or an emergency, Dennis is there. Happy to recommend. He makes it easy to do so!
We have worked with Dennis over the years. Each time, he was responsive, thorough, and kind. He takes the time to explain his process, and he makes recommendations for a safe out. Safety is a priority for Dennis, and we appreciate his work ethic.
Advanced Electrical was recommended to me by a neighbor, and Dennis and his crew lived up to the reputation. I needed an electrical panel upgrade ahead of a new heat pump installation. Dennis responded really quickly and was able to fit me in. The panel is great, they even marked all the switches — very happy with it. You might find cheaper options but for something like a panel upgrade you want a master electrician with the level of experience that Dennis has.
