Advanced Metal Roofing works out of North Hampton and roll-forms its own standing seam panels, which is why so many of its reviews describe roofs shaped to awkward houses — a gambrel, a mid-1700s colonial, a slate roof stripped of 125 shingles and rebuilt in custom-cut metal. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 164363, is verified active in that state's registry, and the Better Business Bureau accredits it at A+. Its Google profile averages 4.6 stars from 104 ratings. The consistent thread is a small named team — Glen in sales, Betty in the office, Dave and Wayne running installs — and short, tightly scheduled jobs. Recent customers describe roofs finished in one to three days, crews working 12-hour days through a hard winter on a 4,000-square-foot roof in February 2026, and daily cleanup that reviewers repeatedly single out for picking up every scrap of metal. Several accounts describe the company talking a customer out of work. In a 2022 review, a homeowner with a sound rubber back roof was told a metal roof would not fix their ice build-up and was given advice on the icing instead. In a 2023 review, a customer chose snap-lock over mechanically seamed panels after the differences were explained, with the whole deck covered in high-temperature waterproof membrane. A Reddit commenter in 2022 said they laid ice and water shield over the entire roof rather than just the usual areas. The payment structure comes up too: an October 2024 customer described paying in three installments — at order, at material delivery, and at completion — noted a couple of months' wait for materials, and pointed out the warranty covers labor as well as product. One recent account runs sharply the other way. In a May 2026 review, a customer said the crew did not show for three months after payment, tore the roof off and left it uncovered for two days, left trash and metal debris behind, and put a hole in the siding that leaked — and that they had spent three months trying to get the company back to fix it. On Reddit in February 2026, someone shopping for a metal roof in eastern Massachusetts said they had heard very mixed reviews of the company. Nothing else in the record describes a job going that way. For a standing seam roof on a house with complicated geometry, this is a deep and specific record, and the pre-sale advice is unusually candid. Pin down the start date and the payment milestones in the contract, ask what happens if materials run late, and confirm who to call if something needs fixing after the crew leaves.
“I have heard very mixed reviews on Advanced Metal Roofing.”
“I used Advanced Metal Roofing, based out of Brentwood. Super easy to work with, and even put up with some of my paranoia about ice dams by laying down ice/water shield over the entire roof, not just the normal areas.”
WE have just finished a roof replacement that was done by Advanced Metal Roof in North Hampton, NH. It was a project that we been wanting to do for many years. Their employee's did a wonderful job, and were easy to have working on our house.
Advanced Metal Roofing (AMR) exceeded our expectations in every phase of our standing seam metal roof project. Ours was the removal and replacement of the large asphalt-shingled roofs on our home here in Southern Maine. In this age of inflated ratings, AMR definitely warrants our 5-Star *Plus* rating.
Betty, Glen, Dave and crew did a phenomenal job on our home. The crew worked long 12 hour days and did a great job cleaning up after the project was done. Roof looks great, and don’t have to worry about a roof for the rest of my life. I highly recommend Advanced Metal Roofing to anyone looking for a permanent roofing solution!
From start to finish it was a wonderful experience. We would highly recommend Advanced Metal Roofing.
Had ice dams last winter. Well never again! Roof looks great too!
