Advanced Spa and Pool is a Hudson pool and spa company handling in-ground and above-ground pool construction, liners, hot-tub service, water testing, chemicals, and seasonal opening and closing. Its own site says the business has built and serviced pools since 1995, while BBB identifies James Hedlund as president. Recent Google customers describe responsive repairs, water testing, pool openings, liner work, and new installations. Several long-term customers mention clear explanations and dependable service, including a 2026 account of next-day filter-piping repair and a 2026 account of salt-generator diagnosis and replacement. There is a meaningful counterpoint. A recent one-star Google review alleges a short inspection, an unsupported full-pool replacement recommendation, and an unresolved $250 charge; another describes a prolonged hot-tub repair dispute and leak. Those complaints concern specific projects and should be discussed directly before booking. For pool construction, liner replacement, seasonal service, or water-care help, ask for the inspection findings, full scope, warranty terms, and a written price before work begins. Confirm who will handle follow-up if a repair does not resolve the problem.
“When Jim and Diane Hedlund opened Advanced Spa And Pool in 1995, they were launching more than a new business — they were building the foundation for a family legacy.”
“Jim Hedlund, owner of Advanced Spa and Pool in Boston, won the prestigious title of Pleatco Perfect PoolGuy 2019.”
We needed to have our pool liner replaced and were informed that the pool structure would need to be inspected before they could proceed. We were told the inspection would cost $250, which we agreed to. The inspection took less than five minutes. We were told that there was patch work on the pool structure and that the entire pool would need to be replaced, at an estimated cost of around $15,000. I requested a copy of the inspection, expecting a detailed assessment of the pool’s condition along with any findings and recommendations. Instead, the inspection report consisted of essentially one finding: that there was patch work. We decided to get a second opinion, and were told that the pool structure did not need to be replaced and that we only needed a new liner. For $250, I expected a more thorough inspection and a detailed explanation of why a complete pool replacement was supposedly necessary. Based on our experience and the second opinion we received, we were very disappointed with the service and felt that our concerns were not properly evaluated.
We’ve been doing business with ASAP for over 20 years and they have always taken good care of us. Kudos to their whole team!
Their main goal is to help you keep your pool perfect and they do a great job. Staff is always friendly and courteous. 2015 was my first year owning a pool, I visited three pool stores in town and making ASAP my permanent pool store was an easy decision.
ASAP is a great company because of their exceptional employees! Very knowledgeable! Had a new pool installed and it is terrific! They were ahead of schedule and it looks perfect!
They have been wonderful. They go out of their way to make sure we have what we need if something happens with our pool and reliably attentive in coming the days they say they will. They are also extremely friendly and we are so grateful to have found them!
