The pool was installed and the customer was happy with it, but getting the remaining work finished was another matter. In an October 2022 Google review, a Quality Design Pools customer said they eventually gave up on a small punch list, changed maintenance providers and hired others to finish cracking and sealing items. That customer described Quality Design outsourcing excavation, gunite pouring, patio work, water, plumbing and fencing. They said that arrangement made it difficult to get workers out on time and to have work corrected or finished. They also complained about a lack of response and occasional rudeness. Their advice was to read the contract carefully and confirm who would do the work. Quality Design Pools is based in Amherst, New Hampshire. Houzz describes it as a family-owned pool builder and service company and lists in-ground pool installations, spas, decks and pool service. The Better Business Bureau lists pool construction, installation and service, along with decks, patios and spas. Google lists 3.4 stars from five ratings. BBB identifies the business as Quality Design Nor'Easter Swimming Pools, Inc. at the Amherst address, lists a B grade, says it is not accredited and notes one complaint.
Used Quality Design to install an inground pool. The company basically outsources everything (excavation, pouring of gunite, patio, water, plumbing, fencing etc.) which makes it difficult to get people out on time and to correct or finish the job. In the end, pool was installed and we're happy but still had a small punch list that we just gave up on...the lack of response and sometimes rudeness was unacceptable. I know other jobs are waiting and our minor issues are now on the bottom of the list, but we are still customers. We switched pool service maintenance to another local company and hired others to come in an finish some of the items (cracking, sealing). Just read the contract carefully and confirm who does the work.
