Advantage Appliance Repair, based in Wrentham, MA, reports 20 years in business and says it is insured. On its Better Business Bureau listing, the company says it services and repairs all major appliances such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, stoves, ranges, wall ovens and dishwashers. In 2025, Aimee diagnosed and repaired a new Whirlpool stove, and "she even figured out that the burner controls were out on incorrectly since it was delivered." In 2024, Aimee got a problem dishwasher part replaced immediately and explained everything during the diagnosis, along with advice for future care of the dishwasher. In 2023, Roger found that a newly installed KitchenAid dishwasher's error was a part failure, had the part in his van, replaced it, and all was well. Also in 2023, the company diagnosed and repaired a refrigerator problem that a previous repair company failed to fix after 3 attempts. In 2024, a dryer that wasn't heating had its heat element fixed in maybe 30 minutes, and that same year Jon explained that a Whirlpool washer's problem came from how the clothes were loaded, not the machine itself. In 2026, the rep who came out for a KitchenAid dishwasher found a mouse had chewed a wire that was not under warranty, and the company would not fix it, citing too much liability. Also in 2026, an ice maker Nick repaired was dripping again two weeks later, and the customer was told another part and the door had to arrive before repairs could begin. In 2025, a dishwasher repair turned out to need a third part after two were agreed, the technician spent nearly 3 hours trying to install the parts, and a refund request went unanswered. In a separate 2025 case, a dishwasher appointment was moved to the afternoon, then to Saturday, and on Saturday no other technician was available when the scheduled one had the flu. In 2022, a recall repair on a dishwasher left a gouge about 12 inches long in a wood floor, and calls about fixing the floor were not returned.
I had an extended warranty on my kitchen aid dishwasher. It stopped working so I scheduled a repair call. Initially it was scheduled for wed aug 12. That was rescheduled by the company until Friday the 14. The rep came out and determined a mouse got in and chewed a wire which was not under warranty. I asked how much to repair and was told there is too much liability that they would not fix and to buy a new one. I saw the one wire he was referencing so I fixed it myself. While the rep was courtesy completely disappointed in the inability to fix my dishwasher.
I had an issue with water dripping from my ice maker onto the control panel of the door, which short circuited it. Since the refrigerator was less than a year old, I had to request repairs through Whirlpool. The repair appointment was scheduled with Advantage Appliance and Nick came to repair the ice maker. I found him quite rude, condescending and impersonal. After he finished, he told me that the ice maker was all set and the new door had to be ordered and would be delivered to me in about 2-3 weeks. Two weeks later, the ice maker was dripping again. I called Whirlpool and they set me up with another appointment for Thursday , August 6th. I received a text confirmation from Whirlpool, but not an email confirmation from Advantage Appliance. When I called Whirlpool, they told me that the ticket was never sent over and the part for the door would not arrive until September 21st! I reached out to Advantage Appliance and was told that there was another issue that was found causing water to drip. This was not communicated to me after the fact and I was told that I would have to wait for another part to arrive in addition to the door before repairs could begin. This was only communicated to me after I called and this is completely unacceptable. Stay away from this company!
I had an initial service call for my dishwasher on July 2 and was told it needed 2 parts to fix it. I agreed, paid for the parts and repair, and was told to call the office on July 9 to schedule the repair. The parts did not come in until mid August, and then I waited another week for an appointment. At that appointment, I was told there is a third part needed that they needed to collect on. I had agreed to only two, and this third part put me over the cost of a new dishwasher. The technician spent nearly 3 hours trying to install the parts, only to tell me it now needs something else. I asked for a refund of all parts and the company has been completely unresponsive. Paid for repairs and have been without a dishwasher for 2 months now. Extremely poor communication and follow through, not to mention they completely mislead me in what was needed, nor were they able to repair it.
Aimee is absolutely AMAZING. She came to diagnose and repair my new Whirlpool stove, she is great with communication, professional and extremely knowledgeable. I cannot thank her enough, her tips on how to use my appliance correctly were beyond helpful and she even figured out that the burner controls were out on incorrectly since it was delivered! Thank you Advantage Appliance and Aimee 15/10 experience! I truly look forward to working with you again in the future!
Extremely disappointed with the customer service experience I had with both Jamie and the manager, Nancy. Rather than showing empathy or attempting to understand my situation, they were dismissive and unprofessional throughout the interaction. Their explanation of the procedures was vague and unhelpful, and when I sought clarification, I was met with a defensive and aggressive attitude. It’s unfortunate to see such a lack of accountability from both a representative and a manager. I have a recorded conversation to support my claims, should anyone wish to hear the truth firsthand. After reading many other recent negative reviews, I realize I’m not alone in this experience. I truly regret doing business with this company. Buyer beware.
